A.O. isn't really making progress in the voting. Habs fans have actually built a bigger lead.
Maybe everyone if sick of voting, can't blame you if you are. You're probably sick of us asking you to do shit.
It may be too late, but whatev.
We emailed some of our favorite Flames blog. They are going to spread the word out west. And try to help out.
In turn we vote for Jerome Iginlia to overtake Hossa.
So at 9pm tonight we are asking all our readers to vote at least 10 times for A.O.
Tell everyone you know, if someone could post this on mesage boards too that would be great.
Just so it is known Caps fans are watching our backs, so don't start with "well caps fans should vote for MAF."
Lets focus on this giant task.
Throw a few votes Iginlia's way as well and Flame fans will watch our backs as well.
If we don't make some big time ground this weekend, it ain't happening.

Voting in ovechkin the hack is probably too tall a task as of now.
However.
Patrick Kane is only 19,000 votes from knocking Pavel Datsyuk out of the Top 3 in the west. This is where we can make a difference.
Because the second-best thing to jobbing Canadien fans, is jobbing Wings fans.
Vote Iginla/Kane.

Now that MAFer is back, I just say "fuck ovechkin" completely, and focus all efforts into getting Fleury past Price, since it's clear he'll now be playing enough games to be eligible to start. Tall order, but it's a hell of a lot more realistic than getting AjOke to knock out the Canadiens.
I say full steam ahead for Fleury (with a little Iggy/Kane love on the side).

Do not look at this as a way to get AO in, look at it as a way to get MAF in. Price is a joke. No, MAF has not played many games this year but his performance in last years playoffs show he is a worthy All-Star. So, to my fellow Penguins fans, take the time to vote for MAF and while you're filling out the vote for Fleury throw AO, Iginla and lets get Kane up there.

I'll vote for AO. Not because of a blog alliance so much as because he's at least twice the player that Saku f*ing Koivu is. Also, because I actually like him (blasphemy, I know).

Totally random, but since everyone's been commenting on the toughness of the Pens' schedual (as in road trips), the Pens are going to be home for almost a solid three weeks at the very tail end of the season. That's huge.

I'm sure I'll get jobbed for this, but I'm not really up for rigging the west voting. For one thing, I don't really care who starts for the West. For another, a couple of the Wings (not Osgood) belong there.
I have no problem with voting en masse to ensure that worthy guys get in rather than making this some kind of all Montreal, all the time deal. And I'm all on board for voting for Iginla because if he doesn't start, West voting is as big a sham as East voting has been. But meh on purposely knocking guys out who, despite playing for a team we hate, deserve to be there. I don't really see that as a whole lot better than what Habs fans did.

I dunno, dying alive, I can see where you're coming from... BUT as far as we know we all have just been voting legitimately. We didn't start this with a spam script to get votes up. I know I read somewhere that they took away those votes (or I might be imagining that), but I don't 100% believe that personally. And voting for Bing, Geno and AO is kinda legitimate. I mean those guys ARE 1, 2, and 3 in the scoring race right now so its not like we're voting in 3 guys who aren't deserving of the start.
staff- please tell me you butchered jarome iginla's name on purpose...
@ Lady Jaye - Oh no, I wholeheartedly support the East voting. That includes AO, because he should be in the starting line-up. I also don't think that Pens fans used scripts, I think it was just a well-organized campaign via online and text. I voted for Sid, Geno and AO dozens of times myself because I've had a lot of downtime at work lately.
My comment was more directed at the idea of voting for specific players in the west with the specific hope of knocking other players out of the starting lineup (and possibly out of the game, since they can only have X number of players on either team).
allison, on that like for MAF being ready, if you scroll down a little bit you will see that they called Jordan Staal Eric Staal.

@ Dying Alive: I have no problem with two Red Wings in the starting lineup as long as those two Red Wings are Lidstrom and Zetterberg (you know, the Wings' two best players...) Hossa and Datsyuk, not as much.

Former Penguins Post Gazette beat writer (and current Bucco's beat writer) Dejan Kovacevic introduced his thoughts on voting for the MLB All Star Game and i believe it fits in well with justifying voting for MAF. He believes that you should not take into account the current season. You should look at a persons stats from the first game after the All Star Game up to the most recent game. MAF was the hottest goalie in the East during the 2nd half last year and helped lead the Pens to within two games of the Cup. So voting for MAF is definitely not a sham.

yea, mine scares just about everybody lol.
I was raised a Rangers fan, so for the first 4.5 years of my life I liked them. Then I smartened up and changed my favorite player from Jeff Beukeboom to Mario Lemieux, effectivly breaking my fathers heart.
Anyway, it's more about the specific Rangers' players I have up there than the team itself.
And I would consider bearing your children as well. You have every prerequisity for a mate for me:

2)You're about as crazy for the Pens as I am.

i sometimes vote for AO, but its just kinda difficult to do when the caps fans don't pull their own weight to even get him close. just seems like they saw what we could do, therefore they asked us to do the same for AO and gave up totally.
other than that, i LOVE that ad where the flyers kid gets jobbed around. but in truth he does get a tire and those are pretty expensive.
The Buries It 8x10 and the autographed Shero puck and Andy Bathgate blade on the mantle are my favorites.

I've been voting for Iginla the entire time. I definitely don't want Hossa to get it. A.O. has gained some ground, but not nearly enough. Maybe we could get the talk shows involved. Benz, Junker, Madden, etc... We really need to spread the word.
