We hate a lot of things in life.
But seeing the Islanders 6 times a year instead of 8 is not one of them.
It's not that the Islanders are good.
It just seems like they're a waste of time.

Ummmm so fedotenko is so nice... The whole time they're practicing he's flipping pucks to the fans and made sure to give the fan who was holding up his old islander jersey something. And gino's got a case of the giggles tonight, smiling and laughing the whole time they were warming up. Hal gill is a beast already and the puck hasn't even dropped... And Tanger is the clean up guy,he had to clean the pucks out of the next after every exercise.
Even if Satan doesn't score tonight, at least he's still on the Pens. Satan was definitely a Penguin killer, especially for guys who aren't quite at the superstar level.
I would love to see Satan act like he was lifting his leg to piss on the goal post, that'd be sweet. Or he could do the bull dance, Happy Gilmore style.

Why?
1.)He doesn't want to play 3rd line shut down center.
2.)I don't think he has the skill to play 2nd line wing, but if he does, because he is also a very good backchecker, the pens won't be able to afford him.
So IF Shero can sign him by the trade deadline for a couple years at cheap money, cool, but if not, ship his ass outta here.
My trade Staal rants have nothing to do with his good or bad play.
And lastly, remember people, 1 good game doesn't mean he is off of his offensive slump. Give it a couple before you crown him with a scoring title.
To expound upon the point that Staff made about Eaton:
He's playing like shit. You want to job Staal, make him the scapegoat this year, be my guest. But Mark Eaton has been absolutely horrific this year. Now, i realize that his knee was rebuilt and that he hadn't played NHL hockey in 10 months. But, he should be rounding into game shape by now, and honestly, it looks like he's forgotten how the hell to play defense. Luckily, the Pens team defense hasn't suffered too much because of it, but he has been on the ice for some huge goals so far this season.
Eaton is not the problem for the Pens "woes" right now, but it is disappointing for a guy who played so well before to have such a big drop off. I'm hoping he gets it together.

Definitely a weird game.
Secondary scoring is what made the team successful last season so it's good to see people like Kennedy, Staal, Cooke and Zigomanis have good games on a night when Crosby and Malkin didn't score.
