We figured this would be a good thing to post on non penguin game nights.
It also helps to centralized comments about the games in case something happens, and we need to go searching for a you tube or something.
A few games to watch tonight.

The first thing they talked about on the intermission report was the way that the Leafs were working hard to win, and it's true. Amusingly, however, the Red Wings are working almost as hard to lose.

Yeah, how about all those empty seats down low in Hockeytown. The camera panned behind Toskala and directly behind the net there were easily 15 empty seats in the 4 rows you could see, and in the corner there were like 2 entire rows empty. I guess they're all home saving up their energy for the Lions run to the Superbowl.

•King Shero and the Pens become Flyers-East as 3 players would take up 36% of the cap space this year...and when Geno's new contract kicked in next year: ~44% for the big 3

•#11 signing this year/next year to a long-term contract probably doesn't happen

It's a good thing the NHL decided to actually play the whole NHL 08-09 season as opposed to just handing the Wings the Cup.

I actually was rooting for the Leafs considering I pity them. Glad to see Dominic Moore got the first star, he wasn't that great but I liked him when he played for us. How was Schenn? I didn't get to see the game, and I was excited about his NHL debut.
Chica, I hope the Canucks have a good night. Kesler and Luongo are my favorite Canucks, so I hope they do well as well as the Swedish twins.

That whole thing was actually borderline traumatic for me. That was another one of the bands that I grew up with (the Hysteria and Adrenalize albums in particular). I saw them in concert in 1993 and they were awesome. But there are few things worse than seeing a band you grew up with and realizing that they haven't aged well at all.

Luke Schenn looked pretty good for a kid playing in his first NHL game. And it doesn't get much tougher than being thrown into your first game against the defending Cup champs that just added another elite winger.
I picked on him a little earlier this summer because during the draft, they made him sound like second coming of Bobby Orr. He actually reminds me a lot of Brooks Orpik.
