OMG You Killed Tom Renney Manny Legace

From the game tonight. Rangers coach, and all around jerkoff, Tom Renney got smoked by one of his own players stick. F You BNG

New York Rangers coach Tom Renney was taken to the dressing room after being hit on the head by a stick in the second period against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night.

The team announced midway through the third that Renney was still in the arena and "is doing OK" but would not return.

Sarah Palin hands the Blues their worst loss of the season.

I'm not surprised.

Not at all.

He got hit with the Blue Jackets guy's stick.

Biggest mistake of your lives.

@Flowerous: I left you a message in the previous thread.

Thomas got sent to WBS.

I can hear Martti Vainaa and Sallitut Aineet already!

Lucic is such a fucking dickhole.

I have listened to "Pelimies" at least 15 times today.

The Goon Blogger said...

I like the commentator for the Boston games and I wish he would just devolve all the way into his Boston accent.

"Dude Lucic just hit him wicked hard!"

debrisslide said...

People saying "wicked" in Boston accents is only funny when you don't hear it 25 times daily.

Is anyone familiar with the Sharks announcers? I watched them when the Flyers made history with their franchise worst start, and they were great. Adorable, even. I think the Sharks are my Western Conference team now. They've been super entertaining lately, and their broadcasts kick ass.

dd7 said...

attacking palin is lame.

politics is a matter of personal opinion and has nothing to to do with sports.

Kat said...

Debris, the Sharks announcers are awesome. They are clever without being obnoxious. And that's a great choice in a Western Conference team. :)

Crying about anything said or done on C-Blog or tPB is lame.

Politics and sports have nothing to do with eachother? Then maybe Sarah Palin shouldn't be dropping pucks at games, because if you think there isn't a political motive in that, you're wrong.

to say politics and sports have nothing to do with each other is as foolish as thinking people are swayed by political opinions on a hockey blog.

just ask mark mcguire, jose canseco, and roger clemens how apolitical baseball is. or maybe you should ask china (and the free tibet movement) what it thinks about having the olympics in beijing this year. or maybe ask the descendants of millions of people formerly subjugated by the british empire how they feel about cricket, a sport used to 'civilize' the colonies under Queen Victoria and her lineage. also, if you're envious of the winners of a certain trophy named the stanley cup, you've probably got a reason to thank the governor general of late 19th century canada. and finally, if a penguins fan can't recognize the clear linkage between local and state politics, a city's economy, and a sports franchise... well then i just don't know what to say to someone so ignorant.

Politics is related to the operation of sporting events and their success rate, but it should not become connected connotatively to the enjoyment of those sporting events by fans. It should be KNOWN to them, for sure, but sporting events are SPORTING events. Buy your ticket, support your franchise, root for your team, and vote for whomever the hell you want to vote for politically.

Why are we even talking about this?

Paul said...

When someone makes a blanket statement about sports and politics (a research interest of mine) having no relation to each other, it bothers me, so i probably overreacted. my bad on that one.

i don't really see how anyone was 'attacking' sarah palin here anyway, other than her desire for her kids to get free hockey jerseys. part of the decline of traditional media means the rise of unconventional ways to get votes, so I don't see how its such a big surprise that obama has ads in 09 and palin is dropping pucks.

SHOULD sports and politics (or to be more accurate, an election) be completely apart from each other? yes. but at the same time, there SHOULD regularly be more than a 50% turnout to vote. what should happen and what does happen are two completely different things, and as long as sarah palin is dropping pucks before nhl games, an nhl blog has free reign to bash her or support her as much as they want. same goes for any other candidate, and any other sport.

again, i probably went way overboard before, so i apologize. i don't even know why i'm bothering to talk about this either.

Legace gets burned by Palin's carpet...classic!

That has to suck for the Blues. Just another unfortunate incident that could cost a player significant time, just like Erik Johnson tearing ligaments getting out of a golf cart. Bad luck for the Blues who might have had a chance at getting a playoff spot. They still could, but it seems they've gotten the business end of fate's johnson up their collective brown eye this year.

FLEUUUUUURYOUUS! -

I meant to tell you the other day that I, unfortunately, will not be in attendance at the Pitt-Rutgers game. :( I'm not feeling all that great today and sitting out in the rain probably isn't going to help. I don't have a ticket anyway, although I'm sure there are at least some today (talked to a guy I know who is directly related to one of the coaches and he said they're expecting upwards of 50,000-55,000 people there for the game today).

Gonna try to make it see Loiusville, though.

LOn a side note...If anybody can find a replica of that gold Karpat PIMP-Ass helmet, let me know where!!

Simple.

To get your own Kultainen kypärä (KUL-tay-nen koo-PAH-rah):

1. Go to your nearest local sporting goods store that sells hockey helmets.

2. Buy one (a helmet...not a sporting goods store).

3. Next, trek to your nearest local hardware store or paint store that sells metallic gold spray paint (see the note below).

4. Buy some spray paint.

5. Spray away.

Note: As modeled here by our very own Ja-na-na, you can see that you need something resembling a Notre Dame-type gold.

fleuryous said...

Stoosh, could you be any more wonderful? haha.

I hope you feel better!
I'll probably get sick by being out the rain, but...you win some, you lose some. haha

That Louisville game is going to be cluuuuuuuutch.

Stoosh said...

@ Fleuryous -

Awwww, thanks. I'd really like to go because I promised myself I'd see McCoy play in person at least a couple of times before he *sniff* leaves for the NFL (I'm still not 100% sure he leaves after this year...).

Louisville will be a good game to see, too.

Dude, I'm hoping he stays at least another year.

Panthers need him.

I do like Stephens-Howling, but he's no McCoy...and he graduates this year. Boo.

and thanks, Jon, for the advice. I really don't want to get sick. haha

My adrenaline will be so high, that I don't know if I'll even feel cold.

8 -- Malkin's point total through eight games last season

Badass.

let me just clarify my post if mccain, biden or obama dropped the puck at that game i would have made the same comment.
In my opinion if your vote is deciced by her or anyone droppoing the puck at a game you might want to rethink your right to vote.

my point is her dropping a puck at a hockey game helps you decide who you vote for you should not be voting.

I read the boards for sports news not political opinions.

No what is foolish is if people let sports be a factor in their fundamental beliefs.

the baseball anology is bad if a sport cant do whats right to keep it self relevant it deserves to fail.

I do recognize the link between the local goverement and hockey and i dont agree with it.

why should a team building a new arena or stadium cost them millions more?

To help a community who has failed for years?

To say anyone is ignorant in their comments is just lame.

Again I read the boards for sports news not political opinions.
