Bing Off The Record

It is probably a good idea to talk about the Penguins every so often.
It is just a shame, everything is slow as balls again.

The only real news of note is Jeff Taffe got assigned to Wilkes-Barre, along with Puck Finn and John Curry. [PG]

Kris Beech is MIA or something, but who really gives a shit about him.

::::::::::

Bing has been on a media tear the last few days, everything from [ESPN] chats to being a guest on TSN's off the record.

Big thanks to [Petr F] for the youtubes:

Go Pens

Let's try to keep this post politics free, mmmkay?

Anybody else catch Fleury on DVE this morning? Money.

Good to see ESPN put in their requisite 5 minutes of hockey coverage. Now they can go back to more important sports news, like squirrels water-skiing.

I think that Sid did like 6 interviews from the same spot yesterday. ESPN, TSN OTR, TSN Preview Show, Rome's Radio Show, NHL Network Around the NHL, were ones that I saw.

Sid looks like he's seething with anger when answering the Hossa question.

Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Aw, I missed MAF. Hopefully they'll put it on the website.

Sid is basically saying "Sean Avery is a dick." But in that adorable, gentlemanly Sidney Crosby way of his.

I think Sid Crosby is the complete package when it comes to interviews, never showing any emotion.

That said, I think he is CONSUMED with rage about Hossa not staying with the Pens and I think he sees at as a personal slight against him when Hossa says he thought the Wings had a better chance then the Pens at the cup.

Bing interviews are boring. In fact, many hockey interviews are boring. Staal's and Malone's are the worst. They're cookie-cutter and provide no information, especially intermission interviews.

Had to be said.

not totally true. Sid did show some emotion during this interview. At least he was laughing at a few questions.

You guys are taking over the internet.

that kid is unbelievably well coached. and yeah his interviews always are boring cause he says exactly what you know he is suppose to say. he couldn't even joke around at the last part of the interview. i think he needs to have his "second" beer in america before every interview. but hell, i'll take his hockey skills instead of sean avery's interview skills any day. and avery can also keep his love of belts, shoes, purses and other fashion accessories.

and i'm sure hal gill's stick is long enough ; )

I wonder who he keeps looking over at during the interview.

Intermission interviews were always my favorite last season, especially if Potash was interviewing Malone, Laraque, Talbot, or Ruutu. Something ridiculous would always happen, like Ruutu saying "I don't wanna be like you Potash" or Laraque kissing Potash, or Malone hugging Potash.

Talbot and others are gonna to have to step up their games in order to make up for the comedic genious lost with those three.

What are everyone's thoughts about Kyle McLaren?

NHL starts in North America tonight. Epic Backhander is coming out of hibernation, feel free to visit.

As far as Sid's interviewing goes, he is the stoic, mature heroic type. Thats great, because Hockey needs all kinds of characters; heroes, villains, and the mercurial, gray area guys like Brett Hull or Roenick.

OV is obviously very bubbly, doing kareoke, and showing up at the nachos stand in Philly during a pre-season game.

Somewhere, villain Sean Avery is planning something nefarious. Fans everywhere are hoping the refs forget to protect little Sean from Hal Gill this season.

Sid, meanwhile, is exactly where he is supposed to be; in front of our Championship banners doing 17 interviews, generating interest in our game. Go Pens-

What was the 'for sure' count for the interviews? I think remarkably small this time around. lol.

i know it shouldn't matter but seeing him in that jersey really pissed me off. and red is def not his color. hes a good looking dude he really does look U-G-L-Y.

him getting injured tonight would probably be better than seeing brady go down in his season opener.

"Oh now now, nobody wants to see anybody get hurt. It's okay to not like someone but to actually wish harm upon another person yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah..."

Everyone's thinkin' it, but I'm just sayin' it. It probably would be nice to see some slight cuts or abrasions, at least.
