ja na na!
btw, ja na na is swedish for FIRST.
Oh, Gronk. haha
They wouldn't stop the car for him...that's cruel...especially if he had totally undershot...yeah.
can't wait for the first game
Hahahaha. Can't wait for the gaaaame.
So stoked.
I 3rd pitthockey and debrisslide.
I think I'm becoming obsessive in the meantime.
Free concert at Pitt before the game:
starts at 1pm.
does anyone know if the Jokerit game will be broadcast anywhere? JustinTV's been lettin' me down lately.
JustinTV has been full of fail lately. I'm hoping it's only because of the preseason.
disclaimer to the above post: it's not that I don't appreciate what they do (I most definitely do), but if I had to compare the 2007-08 season to what's been up so far this preseason, I guess you can tell which one I'm favoring.
Kings are still way under the cap... Don't be surprised if you see the headline...
"Kings sign Kris Beech to a 3 year, 35 million dollar deal."
or
"Beech passes Ovechkin as NHL's most highest paid player."
Kris Beech is a forward, so he's most likely headed to Tampa Bay.
I find the idea that Kris Beech belongs with the LA Kings strikingly obvious, now that you mention it. . .it's a revelation.
replace Beech with Konopka and you may be onto something. ;)
Kris Beech becomes a legend playing with Frolov and moving Kopitar to RW. People learn to fear the Frolov-Beech-Kopitar line.
Hockey World=Stunned.
I'm not sure if Versus is carrying Saturday's game, but I know one place that is:
STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- Fans can watch the Penguins' season opener Saturday against the Ottawa Senators on the Jumbotron at Mellon Arena. Admission and parking are free.
The game, scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Eastern, is being played at the Globe Arena in Stockholm as part of the NHL Premiere. Fans who want to watch at Mellon Arena can enter Gate 1 beginning at 11:30 a.m.
There wil be tours of the arena starting at the east concourse and family skating sessions from noon to 5 p.m. that day as part of the Allegheny Regional Asset District's RADical Days 2008. Bring your own skates. Hockey sticks and pucks will be provided.
The rematch against the Senators on Sunday will not be shown at Mellon Arena.
For more details, visit www.mellonarena.com.
The Penguins have another team event scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, when players will be split into small groups and compete in a scavenger hunt, finding and identifying landmarks throughout Stockholm.
The Penguins franchise = one big study abroad program for young men.
I bet Dan Potash is the host debris. Comedy will insue.
*Has missed Potash so much*
I just read over at pittsburghpenguins.com that Fedotenko is practicing with the first line and Dupuis is practicing with Talbot and Cooke. Looks like management was impressed with the three assists he had the other night... or maybe unimpressed with Dupuis' inability to put the puck on goal.
There wil be tours of the arena starting at the east concourse
Something about that just strikes me as so amusing.
"If you look directly up, kids, you'll see the infamous Elmo balloon perched high above the crowd. Over here, we have the spot where the zamboni exploded all over the ice, and in that corner over there, three electrical fires have broken out in the past five years."
and Sunday's game will be on Versus, which means I have to make friends with somebody quick since I know nobody sports bar around me will put it on with all of the NFL games on.
dying alive, will the tour include seeing all the strategically placed bombs designed to bring down the arena and take out the vice president?
thats what i want to see, left over movie props.
The Penguins website says they're showing Sunday's game on FSN-Pittsburgh also.
Anyone hear any news on the waivers??
Everyone clears waivers
Guess that's good news!
[Caputi]
LeGame's wrister looked pretty nasty in that video.
@J.S: Both Sat. & Sun. games will be on FSNP. I just hope Center Ice clicks on in time. (although I'm sure it will sometime during the week now that baseball is sort of almost close to considering being done with the regular season... Stupid effing White Sox)
