If we ran the show, we would take the offender back to their house and tell their wife what happened.
Or make them play for the Florida Panthers.

tPB should have Chris Hanson do some interviews during the season.

Chris Hanson interviews Ovechkin:

CH: So when you were talking shit before the game, what were your real plans in the game?
AO: I don't know.
CH: And when you were cherry picking, and had a mini breakaway on MAF, what were your plans? Did you think you were going to score?
AO: I don't know, I wanted to.
CH: Did you plan on seeing me tonight under these circumstances?
AO: I've seen your show, and I knew I was guilty. I take many shots, but don't score every time.
CH: You can go now.
AO: I don't want to.
CH: You must.

Pedophiles are sick. I can't make fun of that. It's a disgrace how poorly understood mental health issues are in this country.

Sad I missed Primantiblog!! I was flying in from KC, via O'Hare, where SHOCK OF ALL SHOCKS, my fucking plane was DELAYED. And I was in the literal last row back corner. Blah.

Overheard some jagoff cards docs talking about Hossa the other morning on rounds... they were like, the only explanation is he doesn't like Crosby. Interesting idea even if I think it's off the mark.

I Have Kasparaitis said...

@Hip: Doesn't like Sid? Doesn't add up especially if they talk ... Hossa obviously believes what he said about the Red Wings being more likely to win the Cup. I obviously think he's stupid then but whatev. I mean, he is Sidney Crosby, but my bias always gets in the way of having conversations with people who automatically say they don't like him. Reasoning with them I swear is like trying to convince the Pens and Lightning to reach an agreement on getting Malone back during the trade deadline ... not likely *frowns*

@Eileen: You have issues with old women, don't you? The customer is always right, though *laughs*

Bored. Updated my NHL 08. Played TB in the first game. They went up 2-0. I was stunned. Then I came back with 4 goals. Vinny Lecavligay scored a lame goal near the end to make it 4-3. Tried getting Janne to make an empty netter but they wouldn't pass to him. Lame!

Second game was against Dallas. Won. 3-2 in OT. Satan with the 2 regulation goals. Geno on a rebound in the OT to win it. Awesome. Geno plays the guitar stick to celebrate. The double yellow jerseys were annoying, but I had to test Dallas'. Woo.

Hip said...

@IHK - yeah, I didn't agree with them I just thought it was interesting. They were giving Hossa the benefit of the doubt I think... saying the Pens offered the $$ and the best chance at the Cup, so for him to turn it down, he clearly didn't like Crosby. But I think they glossed over the fact that Hossa's a lazy stupid assprick. Sorta. It struck me because, and I feel I can say this without any bias at all, Crosby has to be the one guy in the league who anyone could play with, mostly because he'd make the relationship work somehow. He's that much of a professional.

BlacknGold66 said...

Just let the police do its job, I don't think it does any good to humiliate people (even sexual predators) on tv. I mean, public humiliation was a middle age punishment, aren't we supposed to have evolved a bit?
I also find it pretty disgusting to use this phenomenon to make money while pretending to make a civic gesture, as does NBC.

And finally, at least, do not make them play for the Panthers. They'd look better with Preds uniforms I guess... :)

here's my view on To Catch A Predator: If you don't want to get busted on a show that revolves around people who troll for teens on the Gore, then the first step would be (wait for it....wait for it....wait....) yes, not to troll for teens on the Gore. Those people don't end up at the decoy house by accident. They know what they're looking for, and with the exception of that one kid on the front page, it's not Chris Hansen.

I know there's people who are against this show for various reasons, and I can understand why. I read a lot about both sides of the story when I was baiting Nigerian princes who were offering me millions. PJ was often mentioned in the forums that I was posting in, and a few of those members crossed forums and worked in both sides of the house (baiting "princes" and pedos).

@Dr. Turk: I'm not sure ... the Pirates management will definitely be dead by then unless they figure out another way to live longer and run the team into the ground (which is an actual possibility ...)

I don't think To Catch a Predator is as bad as you think it is. It heightened the awareness of the American people and has put predators behind bars or in some form of probation. Public humilation should be the last thing to worry about if these guys are going after young kids. The police do their job and get some assistance.

J.S. said...

if i read that site right, that pesonen jersey is about $124.5239 USD

sh0ez said...

Kasparaitis:

That's the problem exactly. The fact that these guys are about to do something which is obviously wrong doesn't make it right to deprive them from some of their basic rights, like the presumption of innocence. I just find it pretty weird to see a guy interviewing someone and lecturing him on tv just seconds before he gets arrested.

Couldn't we just let the police, and then the justice, do their job? Is it necessary, and is it right to make a show out of this? It's not the role of tv to catch and punish criminals. This is why you have police and justice. At least they give you a chance to defend yourself.

Well, sorry about my little rant, we can get back to hockey now I guess!

I love how the guy in the second video openly admits he can't get a girl. What a creeper.

I'm sad I missed Primantisblog. While you all were cbloggin' it up, I was getting heckled at a kareoke bar in Cleveland. I think it had less to do with my (lack of) talent and more to do with the fact that Clevelanders are bitter because they don't have a hockey team.

BlacknGold66 said...

I can't wait until Chris Hanson gets caught doing something illegal. What a prick.

@Maria: That's actually exactly what we do here in Cleveland.

Usually on a Friday or Saturday night I get so riled up that we don't have a hockey team that I go out to the nearest kareoke bar and just start ripping people apart.

Joke.

(btw, we do have a hockey team)

If i could offer my two cents on the Predator:

It seems to me that the whole thing was started kind of as an awareness to parents about how easy it is to contact your children on the internet in unhealthy ways, but also to try to expose some of the sick people who are doing it. I think that the ratings got way out of control big, so of course they would run with it and make it into something bigger.

Now, i read in Rolling Stone that when they conduct these manhunts, they usually play by pretty shady rules and that the majority of the guys they snag get off, or don't get charged at all because of it. I don't know if its every time they engage in one of these or what, and you can take the article for what its worth.

You would think that it would deter some or most people, but, obviously, in the second video's case, it doesn't and, in fact, the guy almost knew what was going on to the point where he couldn't believe he got busted and was on TV.

In short, it seems like entrapment, but at the same time, some of these guys are pretty sick and maybe should be removed from society? But you can't deny that in one way, shape or form, its kind of funny....

Article Here.

I'm fascinated by To Catch a Predator. Watching those guys under extreme distress. . .it kind of makes me sick but I can't help watching it.

I wish I had a Wii right now. Instead I'm watching Law & Order SVU and making sandwiches. Sundays BLOW.

I wish I had a Wii too. I would just play tennis all day.

@Soft european: I think there is no presumption of innocence after they talk online to young children and assume they are going to the children's house. That is against the law the intent to have sexual relations with a minor. Of course the court of law automatically gives you that presumption of innocence based on the Constitution. It is probably harder to find a jury, but if you are brought in on these charges, it's going to be hard to find a juror who would sympathize with you. Insanity plea doesn't necessarily work because the term of insanity is different in the court of law than it is for regular people.

Predators should not be able to go near children ever. If Hansen is doing anything to stop it, then I'm fine with it. I'm not a regular watcher of the show, I don't grab a bag of popcorn and get ready for the predators to get what is coming, but in all fairness he obviously has the right to do so or someone would have removed him from the air. Furthermore he is acting with police it seems because they are usually outside the house when he is there and he is making people more and more aware of the situations of online predators. Although he is trying to act on an ethical standard, his tactics are not exactly. Maybe I don't like the idea of a sexual predator going after the kids I babysit or my little cousins so maybe that's my maternal instincts kicking in ... I'm not condoning the show but I don't mind the principles because these people abuse their rights.

Obviously you can disagree with me ... I can talk a while about this because I have no hockey or anything to watch *frowns*

does anyone know what the hours for PENStation are?

I Have Kasparaitis said...

@Stokes: I think it's 11 am to 4 pm

eileenover said...

@Kayla

Rob was coming from a parade and didn't feel like changing. He might have been a stand in in Backdraft though! And the loud bar slut randomly yelled "Your wife is being so stupid!" at some guy she knew. She was just obnoxious.

JerseyblogUpdate

C-Blog. Sit down. I'm going to scare all of you. Breaking news in my brain: Thoughts of getting a Whitney jersey.

I KNOW, I KNOW! But! Whitney was supremely overlooked in the playoffs while Free Candy was taking over the world. His play during the playoffs (lead the team in Plus/Minus) and his play in Game 5 alone (most time of any non goalie) leads me to believe Whit is stepping into his own.

I think eventually we'll see a tastey top pairing of Free Candy and Whits. And I am throwing my hat in, ready to defend number 19.

Either that or I'm going to buy a jersey from Pro-Jerseys on Ebay.

Solid.

God damn, I can never get those long links to work...

Anyway, they have a Ronny Francis, Tom Barrasso, and Pierre Larouche jeresies that I have my eye on if I don't get Whitney.

I Have Kasparaitis said...

@the goon blogger: Whit is already Dr. Turk's boy ...

I don't mind Whitters; he just played inconsistently most of the season, not that Orpik was much better, though, consistency-wise.

I really should pay more attention. Well, I figure Whit could use more defense anyway, dude gets more flames then someone trolling Steeler fans.

Thanks Akus, solid stuff isn't it? You can make oldschool 70s jeresies there too (Kind of want a Briere jeresey or an Apps Jr.), and I know we're not all fans of stuff beyond hockey, but Pro-Jeresies has stuff for every sport (save for the NFL, which it only has a little of).

I Have Kasparaitis said...

@the goon blogger: People picked on him since he played inconsistent and therefore made him a punching bag for any problem the Pens had. He obviously has the talent to take over Gonchar's position, but he needs to work on it a bit more. When Sarge got hurt, he stepped up his game, I can see him being at Gonchar's level just not right now exactly. The trading Whit talk really annoyed me on so many levels. He just needs to be developed a bit more, no need to regret pushing away a talent like him. When he slid on his stomach and poked away the puck during a game (like Sarge) I really felt that he is getting there. He just needs a bit more polish on his defensive and offensive moves and a bit more edge for his checking to protect Flower. If he plays with Eaton, I can see his skills improve greatly by being able to play with such a talented stay-at home defenseman.

@Stokes: No problem.

The Goon Blogger said...

@I Have Kasparaitis

Oh I totally agree, he's by no means Sergei Gonchar yet, but he's not Melichar either. It was very frustrating watching him get crapped on all year. He certainly made some stupid plays, but all the trade talk and the send him back to WBS was ridiculous.

I hope he plays like he did in the playoffs going forward, because he was lights out.

Raybin said...

I'll admit to one who was down on Whitney for much of the year. And, I think any honest person would have to admit, he was SOFF SOFF SOFF at times. Granted, everyone is on occasion, but more than he should have been.

That being said, I was upset at Whits not because I thought he sucks or should be traded, but because I know that he can do better. I know he can shake the inconsistency and it was frustrating to watch him not be able to do that.

I want to see him perform like he can and step right into Gonchar's skates someday. I think a lot of people were like that. Call it tough love.

He played consistently at a high level throughout the playoffs. If that was his breakthrough moment, then he'll be just fine and we'll see a potential superstar start to breakthrough this year.

Anyone who'd want to trade Whitney is an idiot.

(Okay, I'd trade him for Dion Phaneuf. But I have a serious man crush on him, so you probably want to ignore me)

akus said...

I think any team, any year always has one player that the fans just rip apart.
I remember one D-man for the Pens getting booed at home games each time He touched the puck.

thegoonblooger, any thing hockey is good stuff.

another Whit supporter! My goal this year is to get at least 5. haha. Its good to see that even though some were critical of him they understand his importance to the team long-term. the trade talk right before the deadline made me want to shoot myself.
