I love how the olympics roll around and people start talking about sports they know shit about as it they're fucking experts.
My classmate yesterday was talking about the outside kill ability of the USA beach volleyball team. I was like really?
Sacramone blew it, but we weren't going win anyways. China still would have had a lead after their beam and would have stuck it out.

i saw some terrible senators scarfs too at that first playoff game... they must be as popular in ottawa as guys junk
i was in c, i forget the section, but there was a row of at least 8 senators homos in front of us. one looked like cruella deville. but i was looking through some pens pictures, i definitely sat next to brandi and her mom. i think i talked to her mom actually.
i was in C too... at the end the pens defended twice... where my seat was it was like my legs were on either side of the goal line
hahaha so we were all on the same side, i think it was c 11, i had end seats of whatever row it was.
we were also in end seats... my girlfriend was in the aisle seat and some joke kicked her beer over and all over the guy infront of us halfway through the third period... almost got me and the guy infront of us thrown out of the game for arguing with the ushers about their lack of response to blatant douchebaggery beer kicking
that i don't remember, but at that point i was screaming "rip his fucking head off gary!" at the top of my lungs

now that i think about it I was giving her pointers on how to avoid the kiss cam when u go to a game with a male family member. she asked me to trade seats with her when it came on.
HAHAHA that's it the whole kiss cam thing. we are so paranoid going to games and sitting together it's ridiculous. i'm afraid to ask what she was even saying about me. and to think i came up with tickets at the 11th hour and asked her to go.......... last time i will ever be the nice big brother.
i got my tickets @ 5pm to that game. i was shocked. i dont really remember what she said- i think it was just normal teenage girl stuff. she's a sweet girl. and i know what you mean about the kiss cam - after i laughed at her i was put on with my cousin during game 1 of the rangers series.
too bad i was at game 2 and missed it. i think i got my tickets around 3 maybe. that strategy worked for all of the playoffs except the finals, i wasn't please about that.
The first column in the ratings is for Offensive Awareness (I think). Since Beech is a (crappy) forward and Orpik is a stay-at-home defenseman with limited offensive skills, it would make sense that Beech would have the higher rating in that category. There doesn't appear to be an overall rating anywhere -- suppose you'd have to key it into the game to get that one.
Wow, could I have had more grammatical miscues in my first post? I made Sacramone look like a 10.
p.o. - I know I know. But at least with hockey it's on every year for ~9 months. Beach volleyball? Fencing? Please. No one watches that shit in between. Give it a rest. Swimming and gymnastics I can tolerate because I actually follow them year round but no one watches a god damn archery competition unless it's on NBC right before Phelps going for gold.

FSN is having a special "Building an Arena" pres tonight at 6pm. Tomorrow they will have a special "Arena Groundbreaking" pres also at 6pm.

Also, had a chance to tour the Children's Place and Lemieux Family Center this morning. Just a phenomenal place for special needs childrens. I was stunned at the services they offer and the overall care they provide, and given my field, trust me, I've seen a lot of these places. Mario isn't anything special for having a foundation, there's certainly a lot of athletes that do. But there's a lot that don't and it's always nice to see how someone's reallys stepped it up and invested heavily in a community. Kudos to the Lemieux Foundation for working to build such an outstanding center.

yeah i watch beach volleyball too. Mainly because I play in a league and I like to make myself feel like crap because I'm no where near as talented as they are! ...or in as good of shape. I like Dahlhauser...he looks like a tall, more fit version of Billy Corgan.

Flyer Hater, I almost forgot about that incident ... until you brought his name up ... my vote is Fraser. Mario is too mild-mannered to get that crazed on his own. I don't think I had seen him that mad ever ... Gretzky's a close second. But if we through Lindros in the mix, maybe Messier ... it gets harder *laughs*
Water polo has got to be one of the most ruthless sports I've ever seen. As if the physical requirements of treading water for an hour straight aren't enough, the other team can pretty much drag you under the water and hold you there as long as they want!!!
I can't see that video either. My iPod can view youtube videos separately, but if you embed one into a page, it's fail city.
It says a lot about NY that I found out about who their new coach by reading another team's blog. Wouldn't be too suprised to see their paper finally report that the wings won the cup or that maryann hossa chose to sign elsewhere. But it's good to see that an ex-jtown chief making it as a
coach in the NHL, even if it is with the Isles. IIRC, Gordon is one of the few goalies that prevented 66 from burying it on a penalty shot.

It was like a not-so-funny version of the All-Drug Olympics sketch on SNL many years ago where Phil Hartman ripped both his arms off trying to lift over 1,500 pounds after taking a bunch of different steroids and fish paralyzer.
I just looked up the episode where that came from, and it was in October 1988.
