Somehow the post day streak remains intact:
A big thanks to everyone for the support today.
Somehow it got reported that we got shutdown because of E.J Hradek, or because of that mentally challenged kid we accidentally made fun of.
We don't know much, but after almost three years of jobbing we know we ain't getting shutdown because of libel or slander.
We have never committed either here, look it up, Jack.
Point Park Media Ethics class ain't no joke.
It turns out Blogger thought we were a spamblog or something.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
One reason we should get shutdown?
Because we didn't post this Janne Pesonen song:
[Thanks to DW and shutout to [PSAMP] for this]

Speaking of [PSAMP] he found this sick video of MAF when he played for the Baby Pens:

You can almost feel the hockey coming this time of year. You know, when the Pirates systematically deal anyone that resembles an actual major league player in exchange for a couple minor league kids.
If you are still a Pirate fan, you should be reading [Where have You Gone Andy Van Slyke]

[ Here Come the Hawks ]
A month ago Scotty Bowman shot down any rumors of leaving his position with the Detroit Red Wings for the Chicago Blackhawks.
"I don't know anything about [joining the Blackhawks]. As long as I'm healthy and there's no change in ownership in Detroit, there'll be no change. I'm perfectly satisfied."Yesterday he officially became the Blackhawks Senior Advisor of Hockey Operations.
In Chicago the NHL's most winningest coach will work with his son Stan Bowman, the director of hockey operations.

Game #37
[Capital Punishment. PENS WIN.]

4 - 3
OT
One of these days, this stranglehold the Penguins have over the Capitals will end.
Until then, suck It.
.......................................................
Conklin got the puck later and shimmied it over to Gonch.
Gonch fails 10th-grade trigonometry, and the bounce off the back boards gives Brashear an easy goal in front of the net.
Ovechkin heads to the penalty box late in the period when he hears that a naked man is in there.
But it is just Pensblog Charlie.
He grudgingly heads to the locker room as his penalty carries over into the second period.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Malkin and Bing almost bring the house down in the last 20 seconds.
But we were going to overtime.
Picture: Caps coach Bruce Whatever trying to escape to the locker room so he can poop.
......................................................................
OT
Kolzig was in net.
The game was in Mellon Arena.
It was overtime.
You didn't need to know anymore.
Crosby brings the puck from behind the net.
No one knows what Kolzig is doing.
Gonch, demoralized all night, rises from the ashes.
Game.

"Pittsburgh has a great team, great people, great organization. I had to compare the two teams, and there's a little better chance to win the Cup in Detroit. I had a great time with Sid and playing on the power play with Geno [Evgeni Malkin], but the team in Detroit is something special. I know it's a short term, but we never talked about a one-year [deal] with Pittsburgh. We just talked about a long-term deal. I totally believe Detroit has the kind of team that can win it again."

First! Woo.
And that MAF video is solid.
Bed time. Primantisblog in 13 hours, 38 minutes. Do it. Hope to see some of you there!
apparently yesterdays drama wore everyone out
I don't know if a better use for Kenny Loggins has ever been imagined. It makes me wonder why they don't use helmet cams more often in the NHL, although it would never be as boss as the fisheye-inside-the-goal cam.
Two words: Thank Satan.
(I have a feeling Mr. Satan had no idea that expectations would get so high for him before he even put on the uniform.)
Woooooooooooooooooooo!
Oh, I loved that Capitals recap. . .I remember my boyfriend and his dad talking about that game. I didn't get to watch it because Panera Bread took over my life.
Our long regional nightmare is over.
Anyways, it looks like sitemeter is crashing IE like a hated neighbor's big screen super bowl party.
Since the staff have yet to remove sitemeter, I can only assume they hate M$ whores. The Mac loving bastards.
However, I was able to get the page to work reasonably well enough using Firefox. So glad to have you back. Our long regional nightmare is over.
MAF vid is wicked.
Going to Primantisblog tonight, my first cblog event. Im stoked.
Camden Yards, how I miss you.
The Caps OT thriller was awesome, especially with Sarge bringing it home. Pissy Caps fans (and I think I'm the only Caps fan who isn't pissy...) were just demoralized after that given how much they like to rail Gonchar because he sold out to the Pens. Please don't bring up the facts about the team in between. Nothing was worse for those Rocking the Red last year than Backstrom's own goal though. Suicide elmo for realz.
I'm in KC,MO again. Arthur Bryants is all this city has to offer. Sprint Center still stands silent.
Let's all say it together now:
Kansas City is for Jagoffs!
long sigh-o-relief.
i was worried that tonight at primantis it would be suicide city.
whew. we can put down the razor blades, prescription pills, and handguns and pick up a sammich made of sweet greasy dreams.
Glad you guys didn't leave us. I was worried.
That Caps game was sick I was there. You guys should organize a trip to DC for an away game. I go to one at the Caps every year and there are more Pens fans there than Caps fans.
Die Caps, Die.
~Chris @ pittsburghpucktalk.com
thank you to those who figured out pensblog works with firefox last night, you saved my lack of sanity! i love the little charlie in the corner too.
and since i may not be around later, have fun at primanti's for all those who are going. for those who aren't? hopefully you're around tonight so i won't be lonely!
this Caps game was highly entertaining but the "own goal" game was epic. I actually watched it again the other day bc I was desperate for hockey.
like Kayla said - thanks to whoever told us about Firefox.
@ Christopher Gates: the Chicago game that the staff is planning a road trip for falls right in between the two Caps away games. i had the same thought but it wont work with how close the games are.
Pegasus!!. .........shit or is was that Phoenix....
Anyway, tPB rises from the ashes!!
It will never cease to amuse me on the comments that tPB bloggers post here, new or old.Nor have i ever been disappointed in any new posts that tPB puts up.
Some days like today, maybe someone will come in and say,"13 posts on a Saturday morning...soff" or someone will come in and say, "Damn, its only August and we have 150 comments"...
My point is there are ALWAYS comments, with an "s", soff or not.
Since being on this blog and reading daily the past few months, i look at the links posted and read/glance at the other blogs mentioned.
90% of the time at those other blogs there are 0 comments, or at the most 10, A DAY. Its a shame cause there are some great reads out there.
It only shows the dedication from everyone that keeps this show running.
----
sidenote:
Yeah kaylaj, nice to see Charlie looking over us.
I have used Firefox for a long time & Charlie is also on my Bookmarks for tPB.
For all going the Primantisblog, drive safe and have fun.
I will have the `slaw and fries ready.
I wonder how drunk dan is now??
Kings season ticket holders.....
............get a free jersey.
story
--
Thought of the day:
dial up is Satan
At one point in the past, Caps season ticket holders got a free jersey too. That was one of their selling points, the list of "free gifts" that season ticket holders have gotten in the past.
I think my big advantage in having a partial package is being able to buy additional single-game tickets before they go on sale to the general public and at face value (no convenience charges). That'll come in really handy for the Pens games in February and March.
tPB is a spam blog...it fires out relentless doses of hardcore awesome all over the intertubes.
Someone eat an extra Primanti's sammich for me.
The Dark Knight in IMAX at 3. WHOOOOOOOOOO
Ohhh, i wonder what the mystery photo is?
Sorry, Mr Lombardi , i think i will trade it for what is behind curtain #2.
same spam blog problem happened to mondesishouse yesterday. blogger had it in for pittsburgh sports on friday, i guess.
I'll get this out of the way right now: I was the one who ran with The Hradek Theory. C'mon, it did make sense. Eh, on second thought, maybe not. But when you're looking for any and all possibilities for TPB to be shut down....screw it, let's turn the page (not comment #201, but I mean literally. We're past it. Let's move on...)
The only way The Pesonen Song could get better is that if it's the song we hear after his first goal. It will happen.
Kolzig still sucks. Good luck with him, TB. With the 106 forwards you signed this offseason and no commitment to D, he's gonna need it. He's gonna see more rubber than the some of the "ladies" on Liberty Avenue did in the 80s.
Got an email out of nowhere from the place that I bought my "official" Polamalu 3rd jersey last year. Hopefully I may be coming into a 07 Malkin All Star jersey on the cheap. Saw pics of it and everything appears to be the right font, stitched, and in the authentic sizes. I'll update as needed.
Al Gore was just getting pissed off that he sucks real bad. He senselessly lashed out.
Primanti's blog: I would totally be there if it wasn't in Robinson. In my eyes there is only one Primanti's and that's in the Strip. The only reason I say that is because I've been to them all and none really come close.
I think I might be out for Primantisblog today. I think I committed to the maybe, but I have too much going on around here.
Next event = Piratesblog?
AWESOME Fleury Video. I caught Scuds and I think Whit on there as well. That's truely awesome footage!!
Glad to see we're back.
The only bad thing about Primanti's I found out by talking to the owner. Every location is individually run. The way they make their food can be totally different from one to the other. The one in Oakland is the worst...
Honestly I might be there just to "meat" some people but it is all the way in Robinson and my friends and I have scheduled NHL 08 & Beerfest v2.0. Which is possibly the greatest thing ever. That game gets real hard real quick.
Who is uglier Bruce Boudreau or Claude Julien?
Boudreau, easily.
Not that I spend my day ranking the ugliness of coaches, but Julien is a distant 2nd. I'll just say that Boudreau hasn't aged gracefully. I thought he was in his 70s. Turns out he's in his early 50s.
Fun fact about Bruce Boudreau #1: he appears as Hyannisport Presidents player wearing #7 in Slapshot.
Fun fact about Bruce Boudreau #2: his daughter is an Ice Girl. Not for his Washington Caps, but for Charlie's favorite team, the Ottawa Senators. clicky the linky
Julien. No contest.
removed sitemeter...someone let us know if it works
Staff:
The site looks fine to me.
I'm not sure if you still have the Flash up on top because I don't see that other than the schedule link.
Ahhh is this Claude Julien?
Bill
@fandangler,
I also have not been flashed since yesterday.
I've been using IE for over 50 years, and I'm not about to change now.
Thanks, staff. Hopefully that sitemeter mess will get fixed soon and you can go back to touching yourselves over your visitor count.
Yeah.
Akus:
Flashing is a skill not yet perfected by man.
Steigy has been popping up everywhere
I have a funny story about him. A few weeks ago I went to a Jazz club in Bridgeville with my Grandpa to see Roger Humphreys play. I was sitting there eating an overpriced cajun burger when I see Paul Stiegerwald walk by. He was with some smoking blond that was about 20 years younger than him, so I decided to leave him alone. After the band's first set, Roger Humphreys stands up and announces "theres someone famous in the house tonight". Steigy gets this big grin on his face and begins standing up, but then Roger points to Louis Gosset Jr. (Ive never heard of him either, but he's this huge guy who apparently played in Ffficer and a Gentlemen). They were filming a new movie at the Meadows so he and some of his co-stars came to this jazz club after the shoot.
I really wish I had my camera with me because the Stiegy = Stunned picture would have been incredible. His face seriously looked like someone just kicked him in the nuts.
So Stiegy immediately heads back to the bar and sits in the corner, so I went over and shook his hand. When I asked him if he was excited about the season and if he and the Bibster got to go to the Czech Republic before the season he looked like he didn't want to kill himself anymore.
Anyway, theres a little Pens-related summer story for you guys in this time of hockey depravity.
Everyone using IE = stunned.
Karma's a bitch. Use Firefox! Hah.
@ j.s.: Sad to hear you won't be there!
@ fandangler: It's not really about the food (well yeah, it is), it's about meeting everyone and having a good time!
@ slush: Can't wait to meet you and your family!
Stoked.
Yeah, except the site's now working fine on IE as well.
No love for Steiggy. He should go ask Milo Hamilton how it feels to take over for a legend.
i was walking around at a Borders yesterday (not sure why since i cant read) and saw a kid in a wings cup tshirt which enraged me.
but a minute later i saw some dude in an old school pirates hat to calm me down.
best and worst of all worlds around here.
its the weekend. thedirty.com
have fun at primantiblog. and its def not about the food, cause the food is just okay.
C`mon, Charlie ----flash!
Holy balls, training camp is next month, oh it feels so good to say that.
Edy's "DIBS" snack bags=tease.
My daughter is at the Slipnot/Disturbed concert in Burgettstown, how is the weather out there?
Mayhem?
jefe:
Primanti's is the greatest thing ever food wise when you get it from the good one. I'm not looking to re-hatch this argument but it really depends on location. I do agree though if it's in Robinson it can't be about the food.
It may work, but IE still sucks.
Sh0ez:
I know but Primanti's is almost a fine art to me. It's kinda like my church. I don't believe in God I believe in Primanti Bro.
This is the last chance to tell me if you're coming to Primantisblog tonight. 6:00 at the Robinson location.
By the way, that picture of Sid and Gonch is one of my all-time favorites.
Eileen:
Can I still go with a maybe?...
j.s. the next event is Kennywoodblog, which a lot of people haven't replied to.
fandangler I need to call with a number, so if you end up coming you might not have a seat. I'm going to add a couple more seats, but I can't promise anything. And if the only reason you're not coming is because it's not the one in the Strip, that's pretty lame. Like sh0ez said, it's not all about the food, it's about being with fellow c-bloggers.
I'm so upset about missing another tPB event in Robinson. I live 5 minutes from Quaker and Primanti's. But I committed a while ago to a friends birthday at the Waterfront. So everyone have fun.
IMO. Primanti's tastes the best after a night of drinking, but not totally bad while beginning to drink.
FYI - The Pesonen Song will give you a boner if you are playing it and have a Pussycat Dolls video on mute on the tv.
Ahh I know... it's not just because of the food. I said it before the only reason I'd really go is to meet and greet. It's mainly because it's in Robinson. I have plans tonight and that's like an over 40 minute drive for me. If the dominoes fall the right way today I'll be there. I'd just feel bad if I said I was coming and couldn't make it. I'm getting a lot of third degree...lol... Yikes.
No third degree. I just need to know the number for when I call. Besides, the maybes never actually come.
Well that's because they don't want to hurt any feelings. I'm not interested in feelings. I'm interested in finally going to a cblog event.
fandangler
You can always practice flashin at Primanti's.
Do it.
have fun NHL08-ing
I shall do my best at both...
blades of steel (wii virutal console) > NHL 08
Glad to see the Pensblog is alive and well! Yaaay!
Darn, Chicago will be worth it though. I was at the Pens vs. Caps "Own goal" game. It was awesome. I'm getting chills just thinking about it right now. haha.
Backstrom is now interchangeable with 'Own goal' - i.e. "He just Backstromed it!"
~Chris @ pittsburghpucktalk.com
who am I kidding, NHL 08 is better. I'm just killing time with Blades Of Steel until NHL09 is out.
glad to see cblog is still alive and kicking, plus back down to a managable number of comments.
Is it training camp time yet?
Well I'm off to Primantisblog. Have a good evening c-blog!
I want to play hockey but no one's around. Anyone need a netminder?
For Dek
Yaaaay Pensblog! That MAF video was amazing.
I love that thing Sid does when he's really really excited, when he squats down and screams ecstatically at his teammates.

And here
Don't EVER sell Blades of Steel short.
Blades of Steel may be the greatest hockey game of all time, even better then NHL '94.
Yeah, I said it. Do something.
Welcome back, guys.
There's two michelle's. I might have to get a little more original with my screen name.
If you like that pesonen video check out the real music video

73 comments? Even on a C-Blog get together night, that is shameful.
As punishment I order you all to watch a neverending series of Devils/Islanders games.
@Raybin: That would be more interesting than anything going on right now ... but barely ...
I need to do something, anything or I'll go insane.
I'm so bored that I'm watching Game 5 again, at the risk of making myself depressed later.

hello? is this thing on?
@annie - good link. I just watched some of that game...I was sooooo sick with some weird flu thing that night, but stayed up and watched the whole game anyway...it feels nice to watch it healthy...it was an incredible game...I think, perhaps, I'll watch it again tomorrow. :)
July was sooooo long...hockey season can't start soon enough!!!
Less than 90 comments and almost midnight = epic cblog fail. Only a few of us were at Primanti's! What happened to Canaan and Laynie? It was a good time. Good food (I ate a ton), and good pool. My team won every game! Ruled.
Maybe we should push to 100 then...only about 8 more to go??? And a half hour till Sunday...
hey, I'm tryin here, but I can't even get a decent hello!
hello hello hello!!! :)
Yeah Ali, I just remember when Max scored, I kept screaming at the tope of my lungs "I don't believe it, I don't believe it!" And Sykie's goal later on, with Bugsy and Gonch on the ice with him couldn't have been more perfect. It just makes me sad watching it because a lot of those guys aren't coming back next year.
Yep...I was thinking the same thing about a lot of those guys being gone...I even yelled tonight watching it...
That night with about a minute to go, I was pretty much in tears...but when they scored...holy crap!!!!! Talk about incredible...I thought I'd wake the entire neighborhood up with my yelling...
@Sh0ez: Laynie, said something about having trouble going ... she said she was going to try but wasn't sure she was going to make it ...
@Annie: That made me feel a bit worse ... *frowns* JK.
@ Shoez -
Holy fuck, you must drive fast.
Must've been the vacuum therapy.
...practically to 100...
@ali-you are too kind!
I have been reduced at this point, to d/ling games and burning them to DVD to watch...over and over
:) No problem.
100...and it's only 11:38ish...haha
My hockey withdraw is so bad that I'm reading MLB power rankings on si.com...ugh. That's bad.
i feel your pain, sister
@ stoosh: HA HA HA HA HA! I need to take a picture of that and tag everyone on it! I'll make Rob the head! Ha ha ha. We left at like what, 10? I got to her house at 11. That's actually 15 minutes longer than it took to get there. It's usually a 45 minute trip.
@ ihk: Ohhhhhh.
I've awakened Cblog!
At least "my team" isn't ranked near as low as I thought they would be... dosen't really make me feel better at all... but whatever...
@sh0ez-I think it dozed off again...
agreed...i'm getting bored...nothing is going on
jason bay looks and plays so much better in a sox uni. just sayin.
is everyone drunk yet, lets go!
