If it seems like we're talking about the Lightning every day, it's because everyday they do something else that makes you wonder if these guys realize they are running an actual team and not playing NHL 08.
Today it was signing Vincent Lecavalier to a 11 year $85 million contract extension. [ TSN ]
The deal will go through the 2020 season, when Lecavalier is 40 years old.
Although by then, in the post robot invasion world when humans are slaves, it probably won't be that big of a deal.

Funny story time, I was waving a sign for the car wash, and this guy slowed down, made eye contact, and then hit his gas pedal. Also, a woman who I'm assuming was high shouted "You're Crazy!" at me. My highlight was this guy stopping his car, telling me to come over, giving me a few bucks, and complaining we didn't advertise well enough. My one friend asked me when I was finished holding the sign "Was he hitting on you?"

The good: you get to see Rush, from the 6th row, in the free candy capital of the world. Also, on this tour, Rush uses video intros by Bob & Doug and by the South Park kidz.
If we're lucky, they'll play the Janne Pesonen anthem.

i got pretty lucky, but it still was really painful for about 2 days.

I've never seen anybody with a trainwreck of a swing like his. It's like he has a 2-step process. He's probably one of a few pro athletes that I can beat on the course, but that isn't saying much.
I have a solid drive, but the problem is that's it's far from consistent. If I keep it straight, it's anywhere from 260-280+. However, that's not the norm. Usually it's about 220-230 straight out, then it slices about 40 yards minimum as if it hit a wall.

I have only posted a few times, but I am a fairly consistent lurker. Recently some things have made me realize that even by just observing this community here, things rub off. For instance, is it bad that when someone told me today that her daughter got a chinchilla, it made me think of cblog? Over the 4th, when I realized that B. E. Taylor was singing at a local festival, I couldn't wait to find out if Jeff Jimmerson would be joining him... sometimes they sing together! And why did my cousins visiting from Boston think it was strange that I called the lemonade guy by name at the Pirates game? They just didn't understand. But I knew that you would.

I'm only 21!! Breaking my ankle had nothing to do with age and everything to do with a keg.

I'm always a little amazed at what people are capable of when they hide behind anonymity or otherwise "know" that they can't be caught. They do things like clog up public toilets on purpose, call up old people in the middle of the night, throw drinks on drive-thru restaurant employees, and go on the internet and try to upset people...

I guess they still need to be able to use the riddler, especially since the movies are true to original comic and not the camp of the tv series. I just think if Gorshin were around they could have put him in these movies and made him more evil...he had the maniacal part down pat...
i think the most hilarious thing about lecavejoke's signing is that he's still going to be a 7.75mil cap hit when he's 35-39 years old, and scoring 40 points a year on the 3rd line.
its going to be even better when he pulls a ziggy palffy at 33 and the team has to take the hit for another 6 years with no player to show for it.

@sabrejets: He popularized the Riddler and all ... I mean, the Riddler was an enemy of Batman, but he made him an arch-nemesis. I don't know how big of a character he will be in the Nolan Batman movies.

I can't stop sleeping today. I slept from 4AM until 2PM, and then I took a nap from 5 until 9. The more I sleep, the more tired I feel. I could definitely go back to sleep now without a problem, but I must refrain.

Do you have any idea how many people have already called him "Colon" incorrectly during his lifetime? I had a Colin in my class during my elementary/high school years, and I heard mispronunciations quite a few times. I was barely ever around the kid, and I heard it.
What I learned on call this weekend: if you even think you have to pee, GO immediately. Because with my fucking luck, the next think you know a code is called and trying to do chest compressions while contracting your bladder sphincter is not easy.
I'm sad to have missed Wingblog 2.0. But I will own Wingblog 3.0.
Is TB for real? Reading about their latest shinnanigans everyday is enough to make you think the Twilight Zone really does exist.

I was the same way with sleep today. I took a nap at 5:00 and wanted to be up at 6:30 again. I slept until almost 8:00.
I get days like that, though, and I always seem to get them after particularly busy weeks. Monday started for me at 3:00 AM when I woke up and didn't really end until I got home at almost 8:00 PM because I had to travel to our West Virginia plant to conduct our annual inventory. Tuesday was busier than hell at work because it was our first day back from a weeklong shutdown. Wednesday and Thursday were busy and yesterday was hectic because we spent almost five hours traveling round-trip for Christine's cousin's wedding.
After a while, maybe it just catches up with you and you need a day to just relax like that.

im very interested to see Chicago play this year as well. they remind me of the Pens from a few years ago. I think that they may have the best shot of overtaking the red wings.
Watching the Miss Universe pageant, and one of the finalists is Miss Russia. I feel so lame that I was a little disappointed that the translator was not George. lol
Looking at the Blackhawks roster, the only other guy who makes sense to me as a captain other than Toews might be Robert Lang, and his role has diminished with the team. Havlat might make sense but he can't walk from here to the end of my street without getting hurt.
Toews is 20, so he's not that much older than Sid was when the Pens broke the announcement that they were making Crosby captain. And for as solid as Pat Kane is, I think Toews is the face of that team.
