you can't be first twice, therefore you lose first privileges.
I claim first...and maybe third.
my bad one too many clicks LOL. Thirds still pretty good man.
......but its no first!
LOL, I was just kidding.
You Know You Want To
tPB livechat = migraneblog
Chase Sampson does not do well on tests, especially multiple choice
WWVD?
I swear Virgil lived by me when I was like 10 yrs old.
i agree great white.
was the orpik info true or someone just jobbing?
and chatblog is shut down
whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
[/nancykerriganblog]
i must've missed the orpik conversation..care to fill me in?
What is going on with that live blogging thing?
we agree on the headache thing.
it will be slower-paced for the free agency thing with only relevant topics being discussed.
I definitely couldn't keep up with the live chat.
@ eileen: No one lives near me and Michelle either. We're stuck in Cal.
Free Agency Blog=EPIC FAIL
I'm going back to watching online episodes of Charmed.
@sh0ez
We should all move into some huge house haha.
Holycrapblog.
Also, thanks for the heads up. There needs to be some kinda notice when posts are..uh...posted.
What is going on with this liveblogging thing?
cblog >>>> livechatblog
We should all move into some huge house haha.
The Real World: CBLog.
DO IT.
@ sh0ez - I visit friends in Cal from time to time, so you ain't so far out of touch.
@ Eileen - Would a giant cardboard box outside of the Igloo count?
that liveblog was almost like openmikenightblog
thank Gary I only caught it starting at 1100p
Good call Raybin. That's serious business.
@ barton: I have an RSS Alert that tells me when there's a new post. I just never see the alert. Hah.
@ eileen: Do it.
buy orpik's free candy van when he leaves....rolling cblog real world
@barton
As long as I can watch the Pens, I'm good.
Yeah, Eileen, you could play the buckets with the other bums outside the Igloo!
Haha "This is the story of 7 strangers picked to live in Brooks Orpik's Free Candy Van."
@ great white: i thought i had read that Orpik was offered a contract but im not sure...
@ fh: i think we may need to stage an intervention. lol.
@ dr t: i agree. cblog>livechatblog
@ffbarton from last post: i may be able to join you guys. when were you getting together again?
@ eileen
no doubt
I love the bum that chants "Here we go homeless black dude!"
@ barton again: I changed it to where the new post will open up in a new tab instantly. Solid.
@ Eileen - We can always barcrash and watch the games. I don't think the box would have a electrical outlet for my HDTV.
@ sh0ez - I've never bothered to figure out RSS. Might be a sign of me getting older. I dunno. Do it.
@ Stocker - 730p on Thursday for Clarksblog.
@ Brandi - Beto's at 9p on Wednesday.
@ sh0ez - You must school me in the mystic arts of RSS.
Also, where do I put my application in for Real World: Free Candy?
@ barton: Do you use the new Firefox?
barton: thanks. that MAY just happen.
I am scared of RSS. i have no idea what the hell that is.
My STH buddy always tried to get me to drunkenly play the buckets with those dudes before or after games.
TUESDAY YET?!
@ sh0ez - Believe so, yes.
Alright so who's buying me some drinks on the 4th? I better have a good time.
This is the story of 7 strangers picked to live in Brooks Orpik's Free Candy Van.
Hilarious!
@ Eileen - If you roll with us on Friday, you're taken care of. Don't worry about it. Barton = Clutch in those situations.
Wow, livechatblog needs to calm down ... way too many people ...
Can I just hang out with Free Candy anyways ... we don't need to boot him out, we can keep him there ... then again after I get all crazy talking to him he'll probably want to leave ... *laughs*
to apply for real world: free candy, shouldn't part of the application be to lay down a check that makes the world stop?
watched [got forced by the wife] Juno which I legally [yeah, right] downloaded via some torrent for her instead of all the Rambo-ish movies I've legally [yeah, right] downloaded for myself...
actually, the flick wasn't that bad...the dialogue kinda reminded me of cblog
especially, when I heard the word: SHENANIGANS!
Very good barton, very good. Eileen + alcohol = very entertaining. From what I've been told anyway.
Only relevant topics...
Guess that leaves Me & my new best friend Chase Sampstunned out
i missed the new cblog area and was in the stunned lounge
huselius and naslund
@ dt - Very entertaining movie, I must admit.
@ Eileen - That's when I'm at my very best.
@ nwpa - I've been known to throw some now and then, though mine's more about the low center of gravity rather than sheer mass.
@ ffbarton: wednesday will probably work. i'll let you know for sure.
eileen and barton: ideas for friday... station square is having some kind of live entertainment so there would be alot of people but not nearly as many as the point.
@ Stokes - It will be a good time. That's a gauruntee (cantspellblog for some reason). Never saw a bad Clarks show.
@ IHK -
Mr. Candy is a huge soccer fan. You will have plenty to talk about!
Sounds like a plan Brandi. Is there somewhere we could meet, cuz I have a feeling I'll get lost trying to get to Station Square. Pittsburgh is a trip to maneuver through.
@ Brandi - the only problem with Station Square may be the obstructed view.
But who am I kidding, by that time I might not know which way is up to even look for the fireworks...
Heh, I missed pensblog while I was on vacation. Now it's going to take me another week to catch up ;)
Oh and at least one more person must come. I hate threes.
real world: free candy...spend 2 days rolling around philly passing out bone crushing checks to any found cryers fan...next stop, new york
ORPIK ISN'T LEAVING.
And I'm NOT in denial.
sdlflsdjkfjldksfljkdfljkfblog.
@Colin: You think he would want to talk to me ... *laughs* He'd think I was insane ...
I have to head off ... I have a lot of stuff to do tom. like go to the dentist and senior pictures, so I'll see yinz afterwards!
Guten Nacht, C-blog!
I was in the Stunned Lounge too, when the new post went up. Refreshin' the back page when everyone's on the front page!
me=stunned
Chase and Sandborn looked like Umberger when he got hit with that Mack Truck.
Chase=Stunned=Concussion
@ Eileen - A good place would probably be at the Crafton Kings off of 79 and 60. From there we can all just kinda shoot down 60 and to the sou'side 'n the Square.
@ eileen: shoez said he made be interested...
barton: i didnt think of that part. i guess it depends what part of station square we would be in.
Its been a long time since i've seen the Clarks. But they are entertaining. i'll talk to the Fiance and see whats up for
thursdayclarksshownoworkonfridayblog.
where at in McDonald?
Eileen, I've heard that if you can navigate Pgh, then you can drive anywhere....
Ok. The only place in Pittsburgh I know how to get to is Mellon Arena. Other than that I'm clueless.
4thofjulyblog: im actually closer to the city than both of you i think. if we go to station square i would be taking the T.
We could always go somewhere else to watch fireworks. We'll figure something out.
Correy Perry looks to be staying a Duck
@ Eileen, Brandi, et all - Crafton exit, rt 60 off I-79. I shall guide.
Everyone is invited, too. Maybe we can get in the parking garage right there in Station square at the top. Wouldn't be a bad vantage point...
@ Stokes - Right in the field behind the Giant Iggle. We'll discuss at Betoblog.
Colin can't spell Corey.
@ Brandi - Yes, you would be the closest, by my rough estimation.
Holycrapblog when did this thing get addicting? This may turn into a problem.
Barton's been bite by the bug. it happens to everyone, dude.
@ barton and anyone else who has Firefox 3:
Click here and install this add-on. You may need to click the blue bar at the top of the page to allow you to install it.
Restart Firefox as it asks you to.
When Firefox reopens, go to www.thepensblog.com, if you aren't already there. In the address bar, click the orange signal button. It will take you to a new page.
At the top of this new page, click the "Subscribe Now" button. You are now subscribed to the feed.
Now, go to Tools > Add-Ons.
Find LiveClick and click it. Then click "Options."
Basically everything here is your own preference. Here are my settings:
General: 1 minute and checkmark.
Menus: Open Loc, Open Loc in New Tab, Do Nothing, Bottom and only "Open Location" is checked.
Reading: Mark all, Mark all, Do Nothing, and Orange/Normal/Faded for both bottom sets.
Monitors: Autoload and The Pensblog checked. Alert - Open newest, check, Open location, check. Autoload - Open newest, check, Open location, check. Don't worry about Tag.
There ya go. Hopefully that all makes sense. Try it out. If you have any questions, just ask.
@barton
There's a support group for those addicted to c-blog. Most of us belong to it.
I just keep hitting refresh...
Does anyone have faith that Orpik will stay?
I need some optimism here. haha
@ sh0ez - You, sir, are awesome. I will be sure to try that once things die down here.
Hello, my name's Bob, and I have a problem.
@ Fluery - Free Candy staying is all I have left to look forward to in the world.
I think Orpik will stay.
I just ran nerdblog. Me and Stephen are pretty good at doing that, though he is far more superior than me.
@ brandi, eileen, etc: I don't think we will make it. I don't think I'll have the money for gas by then (I'm strapped bad) and I have work at 7am. Hah. Sorry!
@ fleury: i have faith. i also have alcohol so that may be impairing my judgement. i wont allow myself to believe that Orpik or Ruu are leaving.
@ barton: you're becoming a regular. pretty soon you'll start saying jobber and stunned in everyday speech.
in addition to RSS feeds and firefox, there is a cool little google app. for google homepages called google reader. for those of you who check multiple blogs it's nice that it will show you any new posts from the blogs you've told it to check (albeit a little delayed)
It's ok sh0ez. Gas is ridiculous these days. We'll see you at Dark Knightblog anyway!
@ sh0ez - Apparently I do not have the latest FF. I need to upload that at somepoint in the very near future. Shame to hear you can't make it to fireworksblog.
@ Brandi - Truthbetold, I've been doing that for months. I've been a lurker for a while now, but am finally jumping on the bandwagon.
Also Ruu/Free Candy '08. Do it.
@ barton: There is one for Firefox 2, but I would just suggest getting Firefox 3. So worth it.
@ sirimanni: Yes, that too works well.
@ eileen: Are we making Dark Knightblog the replacement for Wingblog 2.0? I don't mean completely, I just mean the one that we talked about having in two weeks.
Brandi, it sounds like you're a drinker, I LIKE!
my personal uninformed guesses: Orpik 75-80% chance of staying. The Hoss 30-60%.
i dont know what those mean.
I'm going to bed now or else i may never get off of here.
Adios, Cblog.
correction, Google Reader can be used without having a google homepage for anyone that wants to check it oot (I was in toronto this weekend for a family reunion, apparently i have italian cousins there, but they really do oot/aboot/and especially eh? after about every spoken sentence..which i loved)
@ Stokes - Night, man.
@ Brandi - alcohol eases the pain of FA. Yessm.
@ sh0ez - I will!
@sh0ez
I'd still be up for Wingblog 2.0, since not everyone is coming to Dark Knightblog. I'll probably request that day off anyway.
@barton: i did the same thing. superstition kept me from posting.
@stokes: fa specualation drove me to drink. lol.
If there was something I liked in my house, I'd probably be drinking right now also. Sorry, I'm talking way too much.
@ Brandi - I've always been a drinker, can't deny it, but FA just amps up the quantities.
Also, Wingblog 2.0 = a must. Do it.
@eileen "no one lives..."
didn't realize there was a new post. I live in Cranberry hence a wingblog there would be close for me.
Beverage of choice eileen?
When was Wingblog 2.0 planned for?
@stokes - those stats gave me a good chuckle, and are probably always right 99% of the time
@barton - i'm the same way, i usually read everything and am too lazy to type but just keep refreshing
Turn
I definitely can't do Cranberry. =[
@ siri - Kinda hard to get the whole refresh/type thing, but I think I'm getting used to it.
Time for drinkofchoiceblog?
Turning comes at 200, not 100! Ha ha.
Thank you for your assurance, guys. I can rest a little easier.
And I'm all about Ruu/Candy '08.
Night everyone, and let the games begin...
Yes, someone lives near me!
@sh0ez
I believe it would be the 12th.
@Colin
Anything fruity really, but Raspberry Smirnoff is my favorite. I hate beer and wine.
Drinking crown royale and ginger ale at the moment and one of my favorites either dry or mixed (ginger ale).
Barton = joke
Live and learn, right?
Dammit, barton, I was about to hit you with the "you = joke" bit
And then self apply it and steal my thunder.
So I guess that means....
you = joke
(welcome!)
Crown Royal is made from the loins of the gods.
Wait...That thunder was mine! You can't joke me once I've joked myself?
Don't forget, I may be #22 in your programs, but I'm still #1 in your hearts.
Definitely still up for Wingblog 2.0 because I'm not sure what's up with DarkKnightblog. We're gonna try to make it to both.
And by the way, you wanna talk GameShowStunnedblog?
Oh, and
PS. It's all about the 40s. haha. Cheap and classy.
Stoosh that picture makes me laugh every time. NOOOOOO!
12 hours bitches.
Give this cowboy a bottle of Bud and he's happy.
But a glass of Jack on the rocks is always a classy substitute.
All thunder in the world is mine. I dole it out upon my whim.
Hey, when we're doing Pensblog Kennywoodblog, we need to make sure to invite this guy.
Didn't you go to bed, Stokes?
@ eileen: Are you making a Facebook eventblog for Wingblog 2.0?
chiminginblog-
whats this about the clarks now?
i just hung with them 2 weekends ago at the home grown hoo-ha show. great guys.
thinking of ruutu makes me think of something. am i the only one that says "It might be Ruuuuuutuuuu" in reference to Dave Chappelle saying It might be Doo Doooo? for example at about 1:40 in this video/audio
ruuutuuu
Do you think I should? I wasn't sure if I should without knowing if the staff for sure wants to do it on that day.
@ coffee - That was a great show. Was just saying that they are playing at McSummerfest in McDonald on Thursday.
i'm loving these star wars links, especially since episode 2 just ended on spike
Oh yeah. E-mail them about it? Is it gonna be Robinson again?
@ eileen: maybe make one like shoez did for Dark Knight and see who is interested.
I'm not sure about the location. I'll just say it's pending for now.
I'm thinking the Primanti's on rt 60 is a fairly good central point for all involved north, south, and east.
Just my four cents.
ffbarton-
ah that's right. i remember scott mentioning that before their set.
that's a bit of a drive for me.
Happy Canada Day Everyone!!!!
less then 12 hours....
Me and Michelle could only do Robinson or C3. Hah. If more people can do Cranberry, though, then do it there. With Dark Knightblog a week later, I definitely can't do Cranberry.
@ Coffee - it's right down the road from Starlake, or whatever they call that now.
@ sh0ez - the Primanti's might actually be a few miles closer than Robinson for you, if you're coming up 79. And way closer if on 51 for that matter.
Pilot Episode of Scrubs™ on WPGH....
ahhh....memoriesblog
Screw it, I'm saying Robinson for now. We can discuss the location later.
@ barton: Is that the one near Robinson? If so, we could do that. That is, if we are talking about a location for the next get together. Pretty much anywhere Robinson and closer. 50 mile range essentially.
Free Agency + The Company Band's New EP = Happy Happy CK
Atta girl. We've got plenty of time.
im watching scrubs as well Dr T.
"Well Tiger, I gave her an answer during rounds and she screwed my brains out."
"You're the man!"
and @ sh0ez - Yes. 60 runs into Robinson and I'm fairly sure that location is technically the 'Robinson Primanti Bros'.
@ barton: Yeah, it would be a little closer. We do 79. 51 is kind of going a little out of the way and much slower.
ffbarton-
yea i know. that's still like a good hour drive for me. ah well. i see those guys all the time so no worries.
@ sh0ez - Then yeah. Just take 79 to the exit just past the 279 (pittsburgh/airport exit). It'll say crafton or 60 or some combination of. Right off the ramp and you'll run into it eventually. Nice place.
Lucky you, coffee. I've been a huge fan for ever.
brndlynn...
hahaha...
this was supposed to be the only episode for Janitor...but they kept him in. [Neil Flynn aka Janitor, actually auditioned for Dr. Cox's role]
trivablog you may already know...
ff....
like all your suggestions for grub on this side of town!!!!
I could probably be at Beto's 2 minutes after hitting [ENTER]
[Caputi]
Ah well. Things seem to be slowing down so I'm gonna take this time to try and slip away to sleep. 5am sucks.
coffeytalk = groupie
butterflies/nervousness/excitement...........i just wish it would get here, so it can be done, sHERO.
How will i spend my hours up until 12 am.
Reading tPB of course and eating Tabasco(my own personal "Fiesta") flavored Vlasic's. mmmmmmm!! Damn them baby's get some zing to them.
Dial up sucks
@ dt - What can I say. I like food, hence, I have good taste. And if you can be there so quick, Wednesday, do it.
they're a great band. it was fun chasin' scott's little girl sofia around backstage. eventually she ended playing drums with dave during "on saturday" that was hilarious. i had to cover my mouth from laughing so hard so i wouldn't get picked up on their mics.
@ dr t: i did not know that. thats awesome.
coffeytalk = groupie
doc turkleton = jealous
eh hem dr. t, we prefer to be called band aides these days.
ha.
Night.
I just might go ahead and pop in for a golden ticket.
I cheated and requested invitation to Wingblog 2.0 before being invited. Hah.
raybin...
bustin' my chops! hahaha [/borrowing coffeys line]
band aides? = ouchy! [AND I LIKE IT!]
I confirmed you haha. I'm sending invites as we speak.
colin = uber jealous of coffeytalk
Gotta keep the skills sharp, doc t. You know I love you more than most. Or many anyway.
Band aide blog:
Coffeytalk > Kate Hudson
yay eileen! you deserve a medal of wingdom!
penny lane's got nothin' on me.
I'm not like bff's with the clarks or anything. i was backstage due to my buddy eric that plays bass for The Gathering Field. Bill Deasy and Rob James come and play my improv show every now and again. I shot a music video with The Clarks (i ended up being in it for like 5 seconds after an entire day of shooting) We just happen to bump into eachother more often than not.
@ dr t: isnt this 1 of 2 episodes where Cox actually refers to him as JD and not a random girls name?
Thanks coffey! Invites have been sent! If you didn't get one, it's because you don't live here or we aren't friends on Facebook.
The Clarks > Black Crowes
Though I am biased toward them since they're IUP grads. I'm soffer than Ladislav Nagy dried with Snuggle toward anyone associated with the ol' hometown.
Also:
Sleep > Me
G'night all.
happy birthday letsgopsu.
He probably won't see this now that he's a working man but just incase.
scott has only been married once. wife's name is denise if that rings any bells.
woops. stoosh deleted his post.
i requested to be invited to wingblog, but then realized that is when penn states arts fest is, which i already agreed to destroy my liver at.
I'll confirm you anyway, just in case.
@ Coffeytalk
I'm retyping this because I realized afterwards I completely f'd up the way I explained it the first time...
BrusheswithClarksblog...
WHen I played hockey in college (1997-98), I believe Scott was married to the sister of one of the guys on our team. I forget her name, but I don't believe they're married anymore.
They also played W&J during my senior year in a concert sponsored by the college radio station, of which I was a part. So we basically helped put on the show and then got to meet the band afterwards...they couldn't have possibly been nicer guys. Rob in particular was cooler than hell. My only regret was that I was just starting to get into their music at the time, so I didn't appreciate it as much as I would've had I seen them a few years later.
i greatly appreciate it, perhaps the next one
HAPPY JULY 1 PEOPLES!
LET THE $$$, CRACK, AND GOOD TIMES ROLL!
Rob is the nicest. He is probably one of the most talented guitar players i've ever seen. He will throw down his strings anytime and for anyone.
alright i'm out.
kiss kiss bang bang is on and i should also try this whole sleep thing.
night-o!
raybin...
I hear ya holmes! :Þ
Whoops. There's a new post..color me late.
Intervention is DEPRESSING.
I think I'm heading to bed. No page turning for me tonight. Gotta be up at 445.
Unfortunately, this is the song that'll be stuck in my head, which would explain my facebook status.
[j.s.: **i move away from the c-blog to sleep]
brndlynn...
I think you're right on that JD-Dr. Cox thingy....
I don't know what it is about Scrubs™...but I never grow tired of watching...
I used to be that way with watching King of Queens™ [anytime on TV + DVD's]...but that train has left the station...
anything good on TVblog?
I have on Mr. Mom on PLEX [ch. 149 on my Comcast] I don't have HBO, so PLEX & Fox Movie Channel will have to do.{I think both came on when I signed up to get NHLNet}]
cblogs hip = episode 1's Elliott Reid
j.s.
hahaha...chocolate rainblog!
that just reminded me of this clip [it's at the very end] + with all the Billy Mays talk today....
I'm watching Unwrapped.
Heading to bed as well, folks.
Fun commences in about eleven hours.
Hossa
Orpik
Ruutu
Naslund
Do it.
@ dr t: scrubs is the same way with me. im running nostalgiablog and watching Sportsbeat - Badger Bob right now. I never tire of those either.
Well I am off to bed as well. I will be in full gametime superstition mode tomorrow for FA. have a good night everyone!
i've been away from my comp all day (funerals suck..)
saw a mention of crown royal earlier tho..
we toasted my grandfather tonight by downing shots of crown royal from fricking 1965 that we found at my grandparents house the other day..
im surprised i can even type right now (that CR was STRONG)
going to bed people..
it took me 2.5 hours to attempt to catch up on cblog (jeez!) and im too wiped to stay and chat..
11 hours and coutning!!!!
I'm going to sleep as well. Goodnight.
Wow, late to the party...
Raybin, I'm an IUP alum too, I think the best Clarks show I saw was when the played Culpeppers, I miss college...
Eileen and all others down for Independencedayblog, what friends I have left in the area are doing family things (sucks being the only one not married), I'd love to hit the 'Burgh with yinz.
Badger Bob = FTW!
damn!!!!...it's over...I attended that game when they honored Badger Bob passing away...they gave out boxes of battery operated 'candles' [it's at my parents house somewhere]
I cried like a baby.
Who's to say how many more Cups that group could have won with Badger Bob at the helm.
Turk, at least 4, making the Pens the city's most championship-laden team. If only...
Guess I may as well turn in also
jonny v...
i hear ya...time for hozzzzzza
@ dr t: i remember watching that game and seeing the players cry. i was still pretty young and hockey-naive but even i could tell it was the end of an era that never really got started.
@ jonny v: you are more than welcome to join us! we'll probably figure it out tomorrow. if you're not here @ the time i'll send any info through facebook to you.
really going to bed this time.
@penstone, I'm so sorry bout your Grandfather. Didn't get to say it earler. *hugs*
I realize I'm mostly a lurker here, but I wanted to share some amusement. I've got a billion VHS tapes that I don't have labeled, because I am the least organized person of all time.
Anyway, so going through these tapes, figuring what I want to salvage, and what I want to tape over (VHS recordings, the DVR of 1985.), and I found one full of old snippets of Pittsburgh Sports Tonight from early in the 2001-2002 season.
Clips of Toby Petersen's hat trick against Ottawa. Stories about Mario's hip flexor. Stories about Kovalev's bum knee. About how the team would struggle after Jagr being traded.
Stephane Richer. I forgot that guy even existed.
Billy freaking Tibbetts.
Janne Laukkanen.
Ian Moran.
Mike Wilson.
We've come a long, long way.
And man, that post is gonna get lost because we're turning the page soon.
holy shit. i have NO life, and i come home to 500 comments to catch up on.
hell to the no. i still dont have time for that.
get ready to...
