[ The parade blogger Lee P. ] has "reported" that Tomas Holmstrom is gone with a sports hernia.
If we've been foolish enough to take the bait, well-played, Lee.

First!
maybe he got the news from his "friend downtown"
we could only be so lucky. what a jobber...
Before I hunker down to watch the Lost season finale, I feel the need to job Don Cherry. Was it just me, or watching ESPN this morning, did you think that he kicked Joseph's ass and stole his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat?
Let's Go Pens!
In case you missed my post on the last thread....
Open letter to tPB Staff and Dana G,
Are you fucking serious?
Have you lost your collective thought processes?
I will probably no longer read this site thanks to what you have done to me and my surroundings.
You're all very lucky people that nobody else is around or you'd have more than one hospital bill to pay you insensitive pricks!!
Last night's heart-attack of a game wasn't enough was it?
Not only is my hair completely frayed, but the wall behind me in my home... MY HOME... is now completely gone as is part of the neighbors house.
So a big THANKS to you for posting that picture of Gary Roberts just now.
I will never sleep again.
You will be hearing from my team of lawyers!
Signed,
Adult Male Who Just Crapped His Pants
That picture of Roberts is life-changing ... oh my good gary, I almost passed out from that look ...
OMG.
GARY'S SIGNATURE LOOK IN THAT PICTURE. "THE STARE."
LOL.
@ bng66-my reply to you on last cblog was pensgirla dn someone else around here are lawyers. want to sue? failing that, hip is a doc. maybe she can help. that photo of GR is snesational.
also, Staff, I actually heard that story on Holstrom ESPN around 6ish tonight and posted it on cblog. they said he was "questionable" with a lower body injury either a sports hernia or a groin but still might play Saturday.
there are a few various reports about holmstrom floating around. i haven't been able to find anything particularly reputable, though. although, apparently TSN reported earlier (and was mentioned on sportsbeat tonight) that holmstrom's status for the rest of the series is uncertain. currently being in MD, though, i don't really have anything to back this up.
holmstrom just needs a nice charlie massage and the works then he should be good to go...
TSN is reporting it as well. Might be legit.

2. TSN.Ca says he has a knee LINK 3
Go to rvcfigo's link and go to the Talbot video ... it's awesome! Then, a Free Candy interview ... he talks about the Shift ...
there we go with some hard sources.
i like how TSN mentions the red wings staying in an "undisclosed location" around pittsburgh
@BNG66 -- I'm one of the attorneys (along with pensgirl). Intentional infliction of emotional distress, maybe? Since this is going out over Gore, maybe we can get them in both federal and state court. It would be a stretch to try the Hague, but since Gary Roberts is a Canadian, we might give it some thought. My torts professor did say on the first day of class to sue everyone and find the guys with the deep pockets. (I'm thinking Derek and Adam's pockets might be a little short of the money you so obviously deserve.)
Sykora again.

Michel Briere.
@sooksa
I'll bet he has two of them.. haha. I'm not good at smelling sarcasm over the internet, but when sports anchors say that someone's "out with a knee", I always wonder where they're taking it to dinner. haha
Holy carp...I leave work, go to the store and there's another new post? Solid work staff!
Hope I didn't miss too much. :)
Damn Gary is so sexy when he stares like that and I don't feel a bit dirty since he's actually older than me....barely.

sorry for stealing your thunder, sooska
I was reading an article on nhl.com about orpik and one paragraph really made me laugh:
After going to the NCAA finals and winning at Albany, N.Y., in 2001, he had a choice to make ... stay in school and continue to work on his communications degree and play one more season, or turn pro. As it turned out, the NHL was too difficult to turn down, although he plans to go back to BC and switch his degree to English so that he can eventually work with kids and perhaps coach after his playing career is over.
That dude needs to be smacked. He thinks he's the "shiz." Freakin Detroit stuck up jack-knob. The "pitiful Penguins" are no match for our mighty Wings. Jagoff.
Thanks!
Zarley Zalapski and Palffy
i skip cblog for one night and im totally fucking lost

Anybody wondering what the mysterious "undisclosed location" in Pittsburgh is? If so, it's the Nemacolin Resort. My cousin works there. So, anybody who needs to get some Penguin-filled terrorism out of their system, there ya go.
He's the Eklund of parade rumors.
Holmstrom's hernia is a P4.
Parade planning is a P3.

hey Staff - I wasn't complaining or demanding credit - I was just saying that it might be legit afterall because of the timing although in retrospect coming from ESPN it might not be. Since then of course there has been a lot of internet rumor mongering. At least it isn't the famous "inner body injury."
Marty Bleeping Brochu!!
i have no life and still not enough time to read through cblog sometimes.

as for possible injuries, i won't believe it til someone is scratched. its the playoffs, guys play without femurs
Max said he's scared of Gary's face too. And that scared me.
Anyone else find it vewwwwy intewesting that the Wings are staying at a resort that sponsors the Pens?
lol, after seeing max's recent pics from the press conference, i'm getting scared of him and what you can probably find in that beard of his!

Oh man...that is some funny shit, Kaspar. lol
Thanks! I hope I feel better soon too; esp. since the Silvertips are throwing a party at the local sports bar for Game 4 and I want to drink beer and eat things with no nutritional value. :)
Vital question, cbloggers!
Does anyone know if Penstation sells the jersey t-shirt of one Robert B. Scuderi*? I have been meaning to buy one all season, and no time like the present. I'll wear it to game six just in time to watch the Pens lift the cup.
* I have no idea what his actual middle initial is, but I hope it's B.
i just read about luc bourdon (been gone all day). very sad to hear
@dying alive
I'm almost positive that they sell shirts for every player on the team. I need to get a Gonchar one myself.
baby pens down by 2, 8and1/2 left. on PP.
solid interviews with Talbot and Orpik on TSN...
On a sadder note...there also is a nice Tribute to Luc Bourdon on there
baby pens pull within one. five and half left in game.
i just watched the tsn tribute. very well done. TSN is top notch as always, though. brokenrecordblog, i know, but i only read TSN for anything hockey related. espn is a joke
the Wolves going with the Pornstache look instead of the full beards = a bunch of skating White Goodmans
Orpik allowed Gill to have a piece of sample candy. Then Gill gave some to Holmstrom.
Done.
wow they just waved off the Baby Pens Tying goal?
@dying alive: I'm not a hundred percent sure, but they should have it ... I saw a Thibault one last year, so ...
kicking motion my ass!!!!!
My brother ran in to HCMT today, he was totally geeked about it.
he kicked it but what was his INTENT?
yeah on review i guess he did kick it .... oh well, Powerplayblog coming up
I remember when I saw HCMT at Nakama but I didn't say anything cuz he kind of scared me into shock.
oh well.... this baby pens series is going to be a good one
im sure glad wbs is on nhlnet.
freakin kiwicowski gets first star.
hahaha this video is so funny...making fun of the announcers.

@dying alive
I know Hometowne Sports carries the Scuds jersey shirt. If there's one of those near you I'd check it out.
RIP Luc Bourdon.. you never want to see a young man with such a bright future go down like that. My deepest condolences for the Bourdon family and the Canucks organization and fans. For as much as I like Vancouver (they're my team out west) I honestly may have cried had it been a Penguin.
@BNG - sorry I got nothing. I don't even think fucking Xanax could cure the panic attack I had when I saw that picture.
@Dr. Turk - Why the lines for love? I love Geno. Make of it what you will ;o) There's something about his troubled soul that I find appealing as a caretaker.
I'm not making out with my desktop or anything, but I am still laughing at that "I'm on your rinkz scorin big goal" shit. Hilarious.
Honestly, I love all these guys. I couldn't even begin to pick a favorite if I had to. They each bring something to the table and complement each other so well.
Max and Fleury jobbing each other before the games start... Max saying he loves his flower (tear!)... Sid just being fucking unreal... Staalsy growing a playoff beard (not to mention playing) like he's 35... BGL and Roberts and Legame putting the team first even if disappointed over sitting... Whit looking like a bonafide lumberjack and finally playing within himself... USSHG patrolling the waters in front of Fort McFleury with style... Hall smiling like a butchers dog... Free Candy just leveling people literally left and right (thanks for the link whoever that was before)... Sydor coming off the bench and playing like he's been there all along... etc. etc. etc.
And that's just from the playoffs, not to mention everything over the regular season.
Seriously, it's like the perfect Thanksgiving feast is dished out for us every night we get to watch these boys. As Lange would say, "The turkey's on the table." And I've been chowing down.
Something like that.
I would be scared crapless if I saw him.

Up until this year my brother and I had never seen a single famous person in public (you know how usually everyone has a story about meeting someone sweet?) Well, since the start of the season we have seen / met Whitney, Hall, Talbot, Army, Bugsy, Syko, and Sid. I used up all my good Karma.
Sid and Syko were the only ones we really talked too and they could not have been nicer.

I've met BGL, Max, and Adam Hall. Those guys really are incredible. I actually made Max laugh and BGL is so nice it just makes you smile. I saw TK the same night I saw HCMT. That was probably the best birthday I've ever had.
hip~like i said last night in chatblog max & flower are so cute together. nbc showed a small clip of max kinda boxing at flower before they came out on the ice. talk about major friends.
as for meeting players, only hockey player i've ever seen close up was derian hatcher back in his stars days, i know, i know, lucky me. we were at that jousting place in dallas and his brats (you probably remember them from the cup commercial) had plastic swords hitting each other while he just stood around.
Oh, and I've seen Eaton, Malone, Fleury, Staal, and Ruutu in public. I love Inside Penguins Hockey.
after i got conks' autograph i yelled conkblock and he started laughing his ass off.
@hip
just having some fun...has the whole Geno v Gino debate ever been discussed? I don't know why I choose or use Geno -- it just looks more Picksburghian to me, I guess...
Haha Conks seems super nice. Actually they all do. My gosh do I love this team.
I use Geno because Evgeni has an E.
Ah, I forgot to mention maybe the best of all. I met Ruutu and got his autograph for my gf. It was awesome as well. I was so giddy.
well according to weather.com:
after 6 pm on saturday:
30% of precip....
crosses fingers for tailgateblog...
@Dr. Turk - I know. I gave you the wink smily!!
True story - when I was maybe 8 and my brother 12, we were driving home with our dad and passed the hotel at the entrance to our little town... you know, the one where the Pens would stay when they came to play at the old Caps Center. There taking a little stroll through New Carrollton, MD was MARIO FUCKING LEMIEUX (and two other jobbers I can't remember). Like a psycho my dad pulled over and jumped out to basically worship the ground he was walking on. My brother and I were scared shitless by his greatness and staying in the car. Mostly I stayed because my brother stayed and he stayed because he was just so stunned I honestly don't think he could move. But Mario did peek in our back window and wave at us, with toothpick in mouth.
That image is ingrained on my mind.
30% chance of precip*
wowwww i just saw the pirates won today!!!!!!
it's a miracle.
Nemacolin is ridiculously close to my house. I do mean RIDICULOUSLY. If I got in my car now I could be there in less than 30 minutes. What's supposed to be there? Wings or something? Are you serious? I know tons of people who work there. Holy shit, I feel like they're looking down the mountain at me. Fayette County! What a joke. Any of you Pittsburghers been here before? It's a great place, beautiful, lovely people. . .terrible accents. Worse than Pittsburgh. We call it Fayettenamese.
Also, based on that picture of Gary, I think that he might not only be God, but a Time Lord. Thoughts?
@eileen said:
I use Geno because Evgeni has an E
there is also an I...but I think I get what you're saying: E as in evgEni...right?
just looking at his 1st name....wonder why The GENIE has never been mentioned:
Genie: A supernatural creature who does one's bidding when summoned; a magic spirit believed to take human form and serve the person who calls it.
@hip
that would be too cool as a kid to see someone like that in that particular situation....
that could have been a Mario Coke™ commercial with the toothpick - 'Hey Kid....Catch!' [unsanitary & certainly not authenticatable {is that even a word?}]
You are correct turk.
@hip: Oh my gary, I would have screamed if he waved at me ... he might have gotten scared, though, because my excited scream could break glass ...
My mom was friends with Alain Lemieux ... yeah, how cool is that? (*laughs*) Actually I always thought it was cool ... He played a few games as a Pen but he was no Mario ... the older brother overshadowed by his younger sibling is the life story of Alain ... sorry, Alain.
NWChica -
I'm still a bit of a Canucks fan...the Canucks were my first favorite NHL team. So the news about Bourdon hit me pretty hard today.
I'd heard of Bourdon a few times before he was drafted (mostly as an up-and-coming force with Canada's WJC squads), and then I became a bigger fan of him after he was drafted by Vancouver and I realized after we drafted Letang that the two of them were teammates and defensive partners when they played together in Val d'Or. Apparently he and Letang were very good friends, and Letang reportedly didn't take the news very well.
ok...a Penguin scores...what song should be played for him?
[Corny songs like the RW's play for their guys]
like:
Hossa: Fiesta Mexicana!
[dying alive would loathe this!]
Malkin: Genie in a Bottle by Christina Aguleria
Sykora: Psycho from Puddle of Mudd [around the 1:05 mark]
someone was talking before about Vince Lascheid playing 3 Blind Mice at the Pens games many, many, many moons ago....
at the Pirates games, he'd play a little tune to match up with a players name [both for the Bucs & away teams] when it was announced by the PA guy [this was all before todays players 'fav song' is played before he steps into the batters box]
Kaspar takes the first on two blogs in one night.
Well done.
Stoosh: It's been pretty rough here with my friends who are also part of Nuck Nation today. I see all the time here in Everett how close those boys get with their teammates in juniors, and I'm sure if it hit me as hard as it did, Kris is just beside himself. I wish I were there to not only to give you a big hug but Kris too.
anyone else thinks mike babcock kinda looks like John Kerry?
Just picturing that white Wing bus passing all of the black and gold Roberts for Representative campaign signs lining Rt. 40.
Hope Joe Hardy pulls the fire alarm himself tonight.
Stooshmeetstheplayersblog...
Met Bugsy, Army and Fleury in the spring of 2006 when they did an autograph signing out at Dick's at the Mall at Robinson. I have some Ice Time programs signed by all three that will be framed and will go on the wall of the giant hockey room that will be my basement.
In 2001-02, my cousin did some promotional artwork for the Erie Otters, and that year they ended up winning the OHL title and going to the Memorial Cup. He did some lithographs of the more prominent players on the team, most notably Brad Boyes. He got to be good friends with Brad Boyes. It was during the holidays and I was in Erie visiting family, so I stopped by my cousin's house one night. We were playing Madden on his Playstation or something when all of a sudden his doorbell rings. It was Brad Boyes and one of the other guys on the team (Cory Pecker...and yes, that's his real last name). They were back in town from Christmas break and they wanted to hang out because no one else from the team had come back yet. So I ended up hanging out at my cousin's house with Brad Boyes.
I used to work for PNC Bank and I worked occassionally at the Mt. Washington branch in the late 1990s. Kovy used to come in all the time to deposit his check. Very cool guy. Kaspar came it with him a couple of times...couldn't believe how big Kaspar was in person (meaning built...dude was probably 5'10" tops, but he looked like he could've been a linebacker for the Steelers).
My favorite though?
When I was playing hockey at W&J in spring of 1997, we played out at the Ice-O-Plex. We had a game late one Friday night but before I headed down the steps to the locker room, I had to use the ATM machine to get money so I could get money to pay my league dues. I walk over the ATM machine and there's this guy already there. So I'm standing kind of behind him and off to the side with my hockey bag over my shoulder. He gets done, turns around and I'm looking at Ron Francis...Saint Ron...Ronnie Franchise...my favorite Pens player ever...the reason I wore #9 when I played.
Needless to say, me = stunned.
He looks at me and apologizes for not realizing I was behind him. I'm still stunned. I think I mustered a "that's OK" (I'm normally not that starstruck by these guys).
He looks at my equipment bag and goes, "Gotta game tonight, eh?" Somehow without missing a beat, I'm like, "Yeah...in fact, we're going to be shorthanded tonight. You want to play?"
Turned out he was over at Jay's Sportsbar for dinner with a couple of other guys from the team. Got to talk to him for a couple of minutes...one of the nicest athletes I've ever met.
@ David -
I kind of think Babcock looks a little like Robert Redford.
I hate to leave you, but Chica is a bit under the weather and should really get some sleep so she can get up and go to work tomorrow.
And if you think about it...could ya keep the Bourdon family, the Canucks organization, we of Nuck Nation and our good pal LeGame in your thoughts tonight? Thank you kindly.
Night night all.
@Turk: Sidney has his own song and so does Ruutu, so we should play both, but those were made by the Canucks Heavy Eric and he probably has certain rights to them ...
@Big K: Well, it was a tough one, today. C-blog was pretty busy. Luckily, I was checking over to Empty-netters and decided to refresh the page. Really, I should be thanking them, they came up with a huge assist to this first on c-blog. And the next one, I don't remember, I'm going to need footage, but oh, okay, here it is. I was already posting on c-blog, but there wasn't as much traffic as before. So, I went down the center and just smashed in the new comment ... *smiles* I don't know my c-bloggers post great, whole c-blog great, and me post good.
@Stoosh: You met my hero and c-blog namesake? You might need to get into more detail with that one ... *makes myself comfortable and prepares for StooshAndStoryTimeBlog*
@Chica: Good night! I hope you feel better tomorrow!! Can do ... sending them my prayers ...
i think i need to get hammered at tailgateblog, break out the credit card and buy everything pens related. maybe a tattoo also. and season tickets even tho i dont live there. im bored. movieblog.
oh and get well chica!
@ NWChica -
Yeah, the comments you made about junior hockey in the other thread kind of hit home a little for me as well.
I try to follow juniors just about as much as I follow the NHL. It's one thing I miss about not being in Erie...I wish I could get to more Otters games. They still talk about the 2000-01 and 2001-02 Otters teams in Erie, mostly because Erie hasn't really come close to achieving that level of success, but also because for the most part, the kids are just fantastic citizens - many of whom identify with the city and the community.
Tim Connolly was the first Otters player to really make it big and he still tries to get back for a few games a year when he gets a chance. Chris Campoli comes back every year to skate in the preseason camps with the new Otters players. Brad Boyes is a legend up there. In fact, when they retired Boyes's number last season, he teared up several times during the ceremony and I heard there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
And when everything happened with Mickey Renaud in Windsor this year? Yikes.
It's one thing I love about hockey...fans of the team just become so attached to so many of these guys and vice versa - whether it's at the NHL level like what we see here, or in some junior-hockey town like Erie. It's like what Hip said earlier...so many of these guys are so easy to root for because they seem to appreciate the fans, the city. When something like this happens then, it's like practically losing a member of your family.
@ I Have Kaspar -
I met Kasparaitis twice when I was working for PNC Bank. Actually, it wasn't the Mt. Washington branch where I saw Kaspar...it was the one on the South Side on Carson St. He came in to the bank on two separate occassions when I was there, both on Saturdays and both times with Kovalev.
You couldn't miss Kaspar...he had the trademark longer hair and like I said, I couldn't get over how big he was in person...his shoulders across were huge. He was funnier than hell, too, because he talked pretty quicky and he had a pretty heavy accent. He signed autographs for a couple of kids who recognized him.
I BS'd with him and Kovy a little bit about hockey, and both of them seemed to genuinely like playing in Pittsburgh.
Heading off to bed as well.
Gottabeupinfivehoursblog.
Yuck.
Thank God it's Friday.
Only one more day until we have another yard sale at Mellon Arena.
Good night C-bloggers.
Bourdon
@Stoosh: I am committing forever ... meeting Darius Kasparaitis ... he and Mario are basically the reasons I am a hockey fan today. I heard so many interesting stories about him. I wish I could have met him ... *makes desperate cry for Kaspar to come back* I was crazy about him. I got in trouble because I tried to hip check my brother when we were running to my Mom's car and I smacked his head off of something. Also, I cannot count how many times I have imitated his GWG OT Sabres and the belly-flop afterwards.
Here's a good article on him ...
Blahhh. Currently thinking about my shitty situation on Saturday night. . .working at fucking Panera Bread from 5PM until after 10PM. Probably going to spontaneously combust from the tension. I guess I gotta go to bed. Practice for my high school graduation at 8AM. B-b-but I'd rather talk about hockey. . .
Ugh Panera was my first job and I wanted to kill myself every time I worked.
@debrisslide: Congrats!! I am going to be graduating '09.
Too bad c-blog has slowed down ...
I have to head to bed apparently. My parents don't want me to stay up too late (not that I have school now ...)
BTW: C-blog ... I purposefully made a Malkin reference in one of my posts today (that didn't involve number/posts) ... It's like where's Malkin all over again!
It seems I missed another round of fun! Damn. Oh well. Chilled with the girl for a little while.
iveonlymetonepensplayerblog:
Me and some friends were hanging out at lame old Century III Mall. They all went into AE. I stood outside of the store. I saw a girl come rushing over from a crowd of people at the Sprint store. I saw she had numerous Penguins items on here and then further noticed it was all signed. I jumped up and managed to see that Fleury was sitting in the back of the store. I ran in, got my friends, and got a place in line. We all took turns running up to Hometowne Sports to grab something for him to sign. I purchased a Fleury puck. It wass about the 3rd week he was injured I think. Maybe 2nd. I got up to him and he shook my hand. I thought he was going to break it. Jeez. He signed my puck and a photo (I gave the photo to a friend since he likes Fleury and was at work). I asked when he would be back and he responded: "Oh aboot sis week" Then I told him to get better soon. It was fun.
Also, I took all of you cbloggers' opinions and advice on the Yard Sale design and redid it to include some more stuff. The stick is a stick now, a helmet and grass were added. I hope you all enjoy! Let me know what you think!

So much for goingtosleepblog...
I still remember exactly where I was when he scored that goal.
A bunch of my friends were still in college or had just graduated...I was only two years removed from graduating, so a bunch of us...maybe 40 of us...got together down at my old fraternity house to watch the game.
I remember there were like five or six really good scoring chances between the two teams in minutes leading up to the goal. And I remember the goal coming on this fairly uneventful turnover/transition play. When Lang feathered the puck over to him, you could've heard a pin drop in the room we were in because we were all focused so much on the game.
When we heard Lang yell as he came around behind the net after the puck went in, it was just bedlam. I think I tackled like three people at the same time in the celebration.
shoez- yardsale pic is flippin' awesome!
"I own Dominik Hasek!"
- Kasparaitis after he scored the goal to eliminate the Sabres in the 2000 playoffs.
Hasek's sure had some shitty luck when his team sees the Pens in the playoffs, eh?
And who's the Wings' backup 'tender?
Just...
...sayin'.
Good night, C-blog. For real, this time.

I believe Flyer Hater said it best a few months ago...
"When BNG66 is drunk, Cblog = Stunned"
Consider yourselves "Stunned" Cblog.
-Can I just say that I love Hip. (Don't we all though?)
-I smell like a bonfire.
-If I ever need random, well thought out ideas... I'm going straight to Turk. (I heart you Turk)
-Am I the only one that loves the fact that our collective little brother "The Big K" has an obsession with getting the first post?
-FamouspeopleI'vemetblog...
I hugged some dude in Game 1 of the Rags series after we came back and made it 4-3. As I always tell people... I'm glad he hugged back.
If I ever get meet a player from this team I'm gonna have a hard time holding back from hugging him.
...Even if it's "Toothless" Chris Minard. I LOVE this team.
-And I love cblog.
-Speaking of cblog... Am I the only one that sees a J.S. post and thinks of "Chicka Chicka, Jyeah!" Talbot?
-Finally... anybody who was at the game, watched the game(that should cover everyone) + saw the interviews today from the Wings think that they are totally psyching(sp?) themselves out? It's like I said in the other series'... There is a point where the OTHER TEAM starts to believe...
...in the Penguins.
I think that happened in Game 3.
(Actually I think it happened in Game 2 when they played "Cotton Eyed Joe" at the end near the scrum, but Whatev)
Do it.
(oh hell! They just played "The Shift" on the NHL Network.)
(seriously, I smell like a bonfire)
I'm still up, too. I'm on a Photoshop kick, but I never have any creativity. I do once I get started, but I always need something to get me going on an idea.
Anyone got an idea but don't have or can't use Photoshop? Ha ha.
@Staff: Now posting that Candy pic huh?
I NEED TO SLEEP AND YOU AREN'T HELPING!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
This is my first post here. Been watching/listening all season, and I finally decided to join in the massive chorus of pensfandom. I love the outpouring of support for the Pens on the internet, and thank gary for the NHL Center Ice so I could follow the Pens to Lord Stanley's Dance while living out here in "nohockey NW". Not even a passing interest in the sport here, no Canucks fans, probably just a lot of transplants like myself. I watch the games w/ a Red Wings fan!
Can you believe that?!?!
Anyways, I wanted to say hey, and look forward to more posts and reading all the c-bloggers out there. I have been reading every one of them all for months...don't know why I waited so long. Has anyone else been checking out the opposing team boards? It's funny how we're all hockey fans, but we just nitpick to no extent. Oh well, that is fandom. Consider me sickofcrosbybashingblog.
Welcome, pdx!
You will find your stay here very enjoyable and you will meet some great people!
Welcome to the "gang" Pdx Pens!
Center Ice is a life-saver here too.
I've read some of the other teams blogs/posts as well. Haha.. yes, lot's of nitpicking.
I really hope other cbloggers read some Red Wings posts to get the hate I have for them.
They're ALMOST all the same complaints...
"Cindy Crosby"
"Cindy the Diver"
"Thanks, Gary. Ass."
"Conspiracy!"
etc.
etc.
etc.
It's the same on every other teams blogs.
Hell, bng, we didn't even have to leave cblog to see those complaints. Those two or three trolls rode those same complaints in every damn comment. Hah.
Thankfully I'm still in Pensnation and get the wonderful FSN. I miss it in the playoffs. I can;t stand Versus. I don't get it here, though. Our cable company put Versus in the most expensive digital cable package right before the playoffs. I get basic cable for free, and I didn't feel like paying money for one channel I hate listening to. I hook up the online feed and watch TSN or CBC most often if possible. I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't live around here. NHL Center Ice, I guess. Hah.
Wow I thought I was a loser, but this one girl on True Life makes me feel pretty cool.
@eileen -remember, you are a winner!
i swear the dark side of oz goes beyond the ending credits. its driving me mad. i need hallucinogens to figure this out.
That's right, I won tickets! Even I can't call myself a loser after that.
well.. you ARE still here at this time of night.. so youre walking a fine line.
That's because I got up around 3 today because I couldn't sleep after the game. I'm starting to get tired though, finally.
@sh0ez & blackngold66: Thanks for the warm welcome.
I know I'm biased, but why don't people understand that love him or hate him, Crosby is a gifted player that BY NO FAULT OF HIS OWN has been chosen to be the face of the NHL and even used as a marketing tool to sell the game to more fans.
I assume that is the VERY reason why people are so anti-crosby, but you would think as fans of a niche sport that realize it has an inferiority complex to the other major sports, we would champion our best athletes. I have no such ill regard for great players on other NHL Teams. I think AO, Hank, Sakic, Nash, Kane & Toews, Lidstrom are all great players and I was able to enjoy watching this year the best young hockey players to come into the league in forever. The Next Ones if you will. All those bitter Ranger fans, Flyers Fans, and even the Canadien fans in Ottawa just really disappointed me w/ their crap about the "great conspiracy" and "Gary's little poster boy". Don't they realize that talk like that just disrespects their own favorite teams and players, who respect great players, and belittle their own accomplishments, dreams, etc.? What player would give up his whole lifes work so that some "great conspiracy" could be worked out? Bettman can't get his head out of his ass to put his pants on, let alone orchestrate some "dark, sinister ratings bonanza" or avoid a lockout even.
Perhaps the same happened when Gretzky, Lemieux, etc. were young and they had to prove themselves, and all that, but it's just disheartening.
Keep the faith though, and as hockey fans we will always love the game, no matter what it's face looks like. Lets hope it's Crosby for years to come.
hey pdx. center ice is HUGE for us west coasters, eh. although id rather be back in the burgh seeing it LIVE.
shit i gotta get up in, well, whenever i want, but i wanted to go hiking early. i better shut'er'dawn soon.
anyone think The Genie has a trick up his sleeve for game 4? ok that was lame. i didnt even drink tonight..
oh i cant sleep now with a new post..
Bettman can't get his head out of his ass to put his pants on
That made me laugh.
@jefe: Would love to be seeing it LIVE as well. My brother (who lives in Columbus, Ohio and is a die-hard Pens fan) and I wanted to unite in Pittsburgh for game 4. Plane tickets for me are over $500 and game tickets are well over that as well. Some things money can't buy and Mastercard is not an option. I will watch on NBC and do the standard text message after every big play.
Pens Nation: Know that people are EVERYWHERE around the country and the world...just DYING to be there in the 'Burgh to feel what you are feeling. Saturday will be off the charts. Lets get that W.
This guys saying he's going to sue you the site. Seems like he's really grown up. If I were his wife I'd be jacked at him. He's jumping the gun. Its early in the playoffs yet. No one knows the outcome and the fact that they're planning the "parade" before the series even warrants an "impending doom" is ignorant. Have a good one and I love the site.
