Like we've said...
Coming here for breaking news will be the biggest mistake of your life.

Crosby is out another week or whatev. [PG]

"If it was the playoffs, yeah, for sure [I would play]," he said

That's all you need to know.

In other Crosby news, a new Gatorade commercial has been spreading over the Internet.

Solid.

It doesn't seem to be on YouTube yet,
but FSN's "History of the Penguins" was good times.
Tons of great interviews.

The last interview: Gary Roberts.

In an era where sportscasters think they are a big deal, FSN's Rob King is a breath of fresh air.

His narration of "History of the Penguins" in summary:

Emmy.

::BGL isn't happy about his suspension. [PG]

"I barely touched him. He's 5-[feet]-10, I'm 6-3. I looked at the play a million times. I didn't raise my elbow. I was surprised he got hurt.

The most important thing is that this leaves the Pens without an enforcer for the Flyers game.
Someone on [LGP] said bring up career joke Dennis Bonvie.

Although that will never happen and is a stupid idea,
maybe Bonvie could take a lifetime suspension and slash the Flyers Head Coach John Stevens after the national anthem.

It could happen.

Could you imagine telling Gary Roberts your plate was cold?

There are more pictures [here]

Hossa's first action as a Penguin in two weeks.
What is that dude on the left about?

NHL

All three won last night.

Buffalo is back within two points of the Flyers with a 7-1 win over the Canes. [Die By The Blade]
Washington is hanging around. [Japers' Rink]

Florida always does this.
[ Are there any Florida Panther blogs out there?]

The Chris Pronger stomping issue keeps getting stranger. [TSN]
Now the NHL wants to take another look at it, because a better video is now available.

Earl Sleek from the [Battle of California] drives the point home better than we could have:

"Journalists, message-boarders, bloggers, and commenters all chimed in very strongly with a loud cry for justice, and wow it seems to be getting results. The league seems to be listening. Even if tonight’s decision goes against everything I’ve personally been preaching, I don’t know if I’ve ever been as proud of the hockey internet as I am tonight. It’s just fascinating to see a cumulative voice of the fan make change in an often-stubborn league."

Bottom line, the NHL should looked into this a little more before saying Pronger wasn't going to be suspended. But whatever it's the Western Conference, it doesn't affect us right now.

If that was someone from the Senators, we would have called the police.

Go Pens

"Gatorade is FIRST aid, for that deep down body thirst" - 1985 Gatorade commercial

Please tell me somebody recorded the Pens special from last night and posted it on youtube.

And with keeping with the injury tradition this season, I finally get my signed Crosby WC jersey and he announces he's off the ice for another week. Maybe I should get an Alfy or a Heater jersey just on chance that it might result in an injury.

Leave it to Lord Therrien to break up the Pens top line.

Why the fuck is Zack the busboy out there with Sykora?!

And moving Hossa to Center between Bill from accounting and Carl the regional assistant associate sales manager! WTF?!

Give me a fucking break!

Season's over.

Well wasn't that a great positive outlook, bg66!

Don't jump man, it's just not worth it....

You're seriously throwing in the towel now? 1 Point out of first place all while icing a skeleton crew for the better part of the second half?

Not saying I agree with everything HCMT has done, but give the guy some credit for keeping things afloat. The potential of this team is scary. Let's just hope they get healthy at the right time.

cg- look at the pictures from Skates & Plates again and you'll see what I was joking about. :-)

BNG: i loved it. great comment. Bill from accounting IS terrible.

Could you imagine Scuds serving your plate with that pin sticking out of his pinkie and then you'd be like "Gross." Barf.

Go Pens.

Now that Sid's not playing, watch NBC try to put another game on tomorrow.

"Could you imagine telling Gary Roberts your plate was cold?"

That would be suicide.

gary roberts would simply stare at the plate, causing it to burst into flames.

@BNG - that is some funny shit. Zack looks like he weighs maybe 120.

One thing about the group pick - Geno's fucking huge. And kinda looks genuinely excited to be there. That's cute.

For anyone up early - FSN is replaying that Under the Lights junx at 10am today.

Dennis Bonvie is the most penalized and fighting player ever.

372 fights

Still one more month to go

Pronger is a joke.

Onesizedrummer - we used priceline.com to score inexpensive hotel rooms in WBS.

We ate at the famous Wegman's where the trade deadline call went out for Baby Pen reinforcements before the NYI game.

Cool that in the Pronger video they're scrolling curling results across the bottom...

Geno looks like he's serving a table of 2-Diamonds from The Emperors Club [he's getting an eyeful in that snapshot, too]...Maybe that group was part of the Melon Family?

Try the veal & don't forget to tip your server. [esp. Hossa cause he really hasn't 'worked' since arriving from A-T-L]

Randomimity:

That Pronger photoshop is ungodly funny.

Laraque's suspension is a joke. I know rules is rules, but I watched every time they replayed the hit during the game and it was pretty clear it was a freak thing. Laraque has him lined up, the dude pulls out of the way, but not enough in time to prevent a glancing elbow shot on the chin. But, since he was concussed the night before, he goes down like he's been shot. I'd be stunned if it were deliberate...something like that isn't really BGL's style.

@bng66: Awesome stuff. Can't believe he's dragging Hossa down with Carl. The guy hasn't landed an account in months and they expect him to be bold enough to park his ass in front of the net? Bah!

Couldn't tell from that group picture if the USS Hal Gill was one of those doing the serving, but maybe it was impractical. He'd have to lower your plate to the table with a crane.

@zarley: Wouldn't shock me if they did. (Doubt they will, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least)

Just bought Wheeling Nailers tickets for Saturday. Solid.

HOSSA~!

And another thing....

Go Buffalo!

Not only would they keep the Flyers out of the playoffs, but given recent history, we'd roll them in four if out paths crossed.

Dave said...

Ok. Picture Todd from the wedding crashers in your head. Now look at Hossa's serving picture. Almost identical, besides the hair color. Hilarious.

BNG > thanks for the morning lol.

How much is it to go to Skates and Plates out of curiosity?

Refresh my memory guys and girls, but has Laraque really been a huge presence during the other Flithadelphia games this year? Not a job towards him, but with him out of the line up tomorrow actually effect us. Toughness wise I mean.

My question is with Flithadelphia being so close to be knocked out of the playoffs, do you think they might actually play some solid hockey and not take dumb penalties or will they play like they always do: dumb penalties that cost them the game.

I replied to your question in the last posts comments section. Take a look and then let me know if you have any questions.

I used to live in Wilkes-Barre and now I live in the suburbs of Philly so although I'm no expert, I can give you some ideas.

Wow Pronger, you are a sucky person.

Baby Pens??? That's too cute you call them that! If you say Baby Sabre really fast, it's kinda fun (7-1 Buf). Ignore that, it's not important. They all look so dashing in their suits. It would make for an interesting night... I'm a hospitality major. ha.
