You gotta love the kid on the left side of the picture cheering everything on. Takes you back to the old fights in high school where everyone would just crowd around, watch, and cheer.
maybe i don't know the backstory of this photo - but really, Flyers fans are the worst. They match their goon players.
Thought I would post this from Spector's Hockey:
Pierre Maguire was on the TEAM1040 this morning (Wednesday)in Vancouver and he was talking about the Recchi situation. Him and Recchi were texting each other last night before the Canucks/Ducks game and Maguire says that Recchi will likely be traded by Friday. Pittsburgh apparently wants to hand over the reigns of the team to the younger players and they feel that with the presence of such veterans as Recchi, Roberts and Sydor, its hard for those younger players to be that voice in the dressing room. I don't know what that means for Roberts or Sydor, but so far only Recchi has been told to call up other clubs and work out a trade for himself.
It's a rumor website but I don't really doubt it. I say bring on the 4th or 5th round draft pick.
You're definitely right, Brett, but that guy deserves it just for wearing Devils gear.

That is true...but it is a Devils fan. :) Maybe Charlie can tell us if it is okay for 17 homo fans to beat the crap out of another homo fan?

I remember once I went to a penguins game and got Kovalev bobblehead, and Kovalev had already been traded. It was AWESOME.

I remember once upon a time while I was still in college (or even maybe still in high school -- it's been a while), but I was listening to the radio broadcast of a Sharks game, and the announcers started talking about an incident at MSG in a game against the Flyers where there was some poor schmuck in a Flyers jersey sitting down in the lower levels, when the chant starts from the cheap seats "Burn that shirt." And eventually someone set the guy's Flyers jersey on fire with the guy still inside it. So I suppose my point is that Flyers fans may be classless goons, but at least they don't set people on fire. To my knowledge anyway.
At this point, I think I'd take Alek Stojanov for Recchi.

I remember hearing a story that had to be circa 2001 or 2002 about Billy Tibbetts getting pissed off when the vets made him sit in the back of the team bus following a game...So the hothead decided to throw a half-eaten hamburger at them. The throw was off target and just happened to strike a certain team owner/player as he started walking onto the bus.
Tibbetts, supposedly, was sent back to Wilkes-Barre the next day.
Now I heard this second hand from someone else who probably heard it second hand, so who knows if it's an urban legend or not. But I totally believe it could have happened.

ugh! between the ibm training i'm suffering through for work and the lack of pens games, this really might be the longest week of my life. :( THANK GOD both the training and the pens' hiatus end tomorrow.
What if he gets traded to Phoenix and then he can still be here for Recchi bobblehead night? Then everybody wins! Well, except for Coyote fans, but they'll both get over it.
about that picture: i hate the flyers and their fans and pretty much anything philly just becuase of the flyers. thats probably why ranger fans burned a philly shirt: because philly sucks.
Rex will be gone, obviously, and its a shame. i really wish he would retire as a penguin instead of trying to find another team to destroy.
