Probably the most anticipated game of the young season.
The Capitals organization is making a big deal out of it, as they have organized a "whiteout" for the game.
Unfortunately for them, they forgot they're playing the Pens.
The Caps look to be not as much of a joke as they have been in recent years.
The last thing the Eastern Conference needs is another team jumping into everything.
But it looks like they'll be taking Atlanta's place.
The Verizon Center can be an unfriendly place when you're trailing.

If you weren't close to having a heart attack those last six minutes, you just don't know what hockey is all about. What a fucking game, it looks like a real rivalry might actually re-emerge with us and them.

I saw the Laraque/Brashear fight on HNIC. I'm surprised the whole arena didn't cave in, but then again, only a GR fight could do that.
Just finished watching the Leafs/'Hawks game. Leafs lose 6-4, after blowing a 3-1 lead. Their D is still shitty, and it'll be nice to cream them on Thursday. Little Ruutu got the empty-netter, just to twist the knife in the sides of Leafers everywhere. One guy was sitting behind Raycroft, eating pizza and just glaring at him. The only thing more deadly would've been GR glaring at Raycroft.
I wasn't expecting the score to be that low.

just let me shout out a big "fuck you!!!" to the jackasses that cheered when they thought sid got hurt.
Uh, yeah - we weren't cheering because we thought he got hurt. We were actually laughing...because it was hilarious. If Ovie had faceplanted like that you would have laughed too - hell, I would have laughed at him. Funny is funny.
And is our attendance the best thing you've got? Seriously? Even we make fun of our low attendance. It's DC - there are tons of Pittsburgh ex-pats lurking here and the majority of locals just don't get hockey unless the Caps are winning. I don't remember the Igloo being so packed back in the years leading up to the lockout. You know, when the Pens sucked just as bad as the Caps? Remember?
Come up with some better insults next time. The rivalry looks to be reborn and we Caps fans welcome some friendly trash talk - and if you don't start fights in our arena we'll be glad to share a laugh and a beer with you after the game, too.
