Huge winter storm coming through.
All of the joblar radars are tracking the storm.
Everyone be careful tomorrow morning and into the afternoon.
In the old days, Joe Denardo predicted winter storms with a bottle of Jack Daniels, a bucket of KFC, and guts.
Jeff Verszyla couldn't predict his own bowel movements.
Joe Denardo predicted you'd be a loser

I talked to Mark Cuban tonight at the Pitt basketball game and i told him to buy the pirates and he said back to me "yeah and then pens too, theyre rockin right now"
possibility he is in town to work on a deal to buy the pens????
mark eaton said he'd buy the pens, too
philly beat detroit? 5 to 1? wtf? did the sky fall down or something?
mark cuban and mark eaton should team up on a project - namely "the world". how awesome would that be?
Mark Eaton already owns the world.
Why wouldn't you tell him to buy the pens?
I remember going to a Sharks/Nords game when I was in high school. There was literally myself and one other person cheering for Quebec. Let me tell you, there's nothing quite like standing up and cheering a goal for the road team, wearing their jersey, in a dead silent arena. Good times...
You fella's ever been around when Cuban freaks out about the current Pirates owners? He goes c-r-a-z-y
Staff,
Great article by Buccigross on the Pens! And interesting what "The Kansas City Star" has to say. At least the guy's not a jerk. Although I, along with many other Pittsburghers, still would NOT want to see the team leave Pittsburgh. (No matter how long it takes them to strike the best deal possible.)
Help us Mario Lemieux, you're our only hope.
Our friend Smizik had an article in today's paper about Pittsburgh's ratings, pretty much a rehash of the all-star game numbers and such. After reading it, a person realizes that the Pens could not logically move. It's just not going to happen. "In their game Feb. 4 (Super Bowl Sunday) at Montreal, the Penguins achieved a 7.2 rating, which, for hockey, is off the charts."
Bettman realizes it, Lemieux realizes it, it's just a matter of time folks...be patient.
House rules
Mark Eaton > House
but only by thismuch
hahahahaha
Newton made a mistake. His second law is actually F=ME, which, of course, stands for Mark Eaton.
I think Emery's fine is a bit much. But whatever, the NHL is dumb.
Looking forward to the game tomorrow. Hockey >>>> Valentine's Day.
You forgot about:
For everyaction there is an equal and opposite reaction. Except for Mark Eaton, who has no equal.
This Mark Eaton thing is so addciting.
Just wait till he scores a goal, I won't sleep for 4 days...
OLN post-game show last night declared Tampa Bay the hottest team in the East right now. Fags. They also said Stall "might have a chance at being half-way decent" in response to his hat trick. Gag me.
half way decent...my ass i am still calling him Rookie of the Year over Malkin
Yahoo ran a nice story on Staal a night or two ago. It talked about how Eric is bitter and won't give him advice anymore now that Jordan has almost caught him in goals.
ESPN showing the pens some respect???
Pens 5th in the latest power rankings
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/powerranking
from the Buccigross column:
"The Stanley Cup is a '56 Thunderbird. The NFL's championship trophy is a Ford Tempo."
Need I say more?
...and Rick, I know you're reading, sorry to throw the Tempo smack your way, hahaha
An NHL game in London for next season.. I hate my life... ALWAYS AHEAD OF THE WORLD.
You guys included that to spite me didn't you :(
If anyone thinks Staal should win ROY over Malkin, they're nuts. Malkin has 27 goals, 4 more than Staal, in three less games. Staal has only 6 assists! Compared to Malkin's 36. The only advantage Staal has is +/- and you dont win ROY based on that. There is no debate.
-Pat
And Malkin's also been playing on power plays and shiz with more opportunities for assists...As long as one of them wins it, I really don't care. That would be balls if they both won it
i understand why every one is throwing stones at me for picking Staal over Malkin. But someone has to say something different then everyone else.
I maybe nuts, but if it happens you heard it here first.
teej, you're grounded from the comments.
i used to drive a tempo.

hahaha, the pensblog first ban on making a comment, i love it
wouldnt an arena deal be the best valentines gift EVER?
i know its unlikely, but something to think about while youre not cursing mother nature tonight and tomorrow
Speaking of arena...didn't mario have a deadline of notifying the NHL of WTF they are doing so they could make the schedule? So since is isnt saying anything could it mean that the penguins are staying but not saying anything trying to get a better deal?
so since he* isnt saying anything
i think if things were going badly, each side would be mf'ing each other in the news, so they must be making progress
joblar radar... that's too much
Calder discussion aside... Staal has been a much bigger key to the current hot streak than Malkin has.
"Jeff Verszyla couldn't predict his own bowel movements."
Hahahahahahaha......another awesome line. Here's what KDKA has to say about Jeff:
"Like many weather enthusiasts, Jeff is very passionate about the weather and has a great respect for it. 'My job is to inform the people of my hometown about the potential impact of a weather situation, so they can take the necessary steps to protect their property and, more importantly, their lives.'"
Hmmm......they mean well. If only these weathermen knew what they were doing. You don't even need to go to school and you'd probably have a better chance at predicting the weather than these guys. Oh well, work with what you got I guess.......what am I saying??? I could've just called Mark Eaton all this time.....dang it!!!
"The Pittsburgh Penguins, the league's hottest team, made another big jump to No. 5 with their current 11-0-2 run. The Pens are staging a stunning second-half surge. They are 11-0-2 in their last 13 games and have won 17 more games than at this same point in 2005-06. They are also allowing less goals overall than last season. Playoff position? They are fourth overall in the East."
Will,
Thanks for the website. I can't believe ESPN said that......and I can't believe that I can actually say the Penguins are in 5th place - west and east combined!!! Tomorrow's game can't come soon enough.
By the way Jon, thanks for the reassurance about the team. It looks pretty much like a done deal, but I'll be able to breathe easier and sleep better once they say, "The Pens are staying in Pittsburgh, and they're FINALLY getting a new arena!" That's all.....I just wanna hear them say it before I get too excited.
Will, also thanks for the ESPN link!
I love Starkey's column, and this line just reminded me of here...
"Who's dispensing justice around here, the Geico caveman?"
