Housekeeping

First of all, Wednesday nights are usually garbage.
Although, I just found San Jose - Minnesota on Versus.
7:45 PM through 11:30 PM tonight is devoted entirely towards tending to Pensblog business...with a bowl of Corn Pops and a game or two of NHL '07 in there somewhere.

...If you feel so inclined, take a peek at the No Pun Intended hockey blog. Two girls covering a few teams in the NHL, including the Pens...

...Kukla's Korner, a general NHL blog, mentioned our list of top 10 goals. Why is that news? The author of the site also writes for NHL.com, and to garner his attention was a big deal for us...

...Our favorite Pensblogal, Stephanie S., was recently hired by the Penguins in their Media Relations Department. Congratulations Steph!!!!!!!

...Our rumored Q&A session will be coming into fruition in the next couple days: Joe Starkey of the Tribune-Review.
We also have one in the works with another writer.

...Speaking of Pensblog business, we are very close to getting the 1991 and 1992 Penguins playoff goals onto Google Video...

...Crosby's 32 points are (is?) 4th in the NHL...

...Malkin-Kopitar Article
Malkin will run away with the Calder Trophy this year, so at least we don't have to give LA's Anze Kopitar the Ovechkin-treatment and hate him for the entire season...

...Calgary Flames are retiring Mike Vernon's # 30...

...Finally, Pitt basketball season is getting into full swing. Check out the Pitt Hoops Blog, run by none other than frequent Pensblog commenter Dennis...

Come to think of it...I'm not sure if there is a horn or not. Hadn't really noticed, which makes me think that there's not.

As for Blur...that got the axe (thank god) as it's back to the gloriousness of Gary Glitter's Rock n Roll Part 2. This is the song I remember as a kid and the song I like to hear after goals.

oh, there definitely is a horn.

there used to be a siren.

back in the early 90s, then pens would score and jon berbero would play a chord on the organ right after a goal was scored. it had a nice effect.

they moved to the goal horn last year, i honestly think so.

no offense to blur, but gary glitter is the choice for me.

Good God, why doesn't the Canadian Press just blow Kopitar already? I mean they're making it out like he's some sort of god. Especially when they say, "But 23 points, second in team scoring, for a 19-year-old?" I believe Crosby is 19 with 32 points.. good for first on the team and 4th in the league. I'd also like to point out that Crosby had 28pts in his first 26 games compared to 23 for Kopitar. We all know Malkin is better even if he has one less point (in 7 less games!)

I hate to post twice but I believe I have to... check out this article in the post-gazette: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06334/742365-61.stm I know everyone rips on LeClair but you have to give him and Shero credit for the professional manor in which they're handling his situation. It totally changes the way I think about LeClair
